We stayed at this b&b for one night but wished it was longer! Jeff was a fantastic host; he put on a varied continental breakfast and was very helpful with local restaurant suggestions within walking distance. The location is very convenient; a 5 minute drive to Salamanca, otherwise, a 15 minute walk. The room was clean and wifi signal good.

Lovely B&B within walking distance to Hobart CBD

Pros: The location was fantastic - close enough to walk to everything without being in the actual city centre.
Location: Great cafes and restaurants (which we enjoyed whilst there). As we missing our cat we did visit a fantastic Cat Cafe a few doors up the road.
We were fortunate to be able to stay here after our original hotel was overbooked and they cancelled our reservation. The host Jeff and Julie were lovely and attentive; greeting us every morning as we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast in the dining room. The location is a comfortable walk from Hobart city and other attractions including the Salamanca Markets. Whilst we dd not travel by car this time, it should be noted that there is limited on-site parking however permits can readily be provided for what appeared to be ample street parking. Jeff was able to point us to many restaurants and cafes to enjoy and would be a wealth of information for those that have never been to Hobart and are looking for things to do. This B&B offers several accommodation options and will be our first choice when we return to Hobart.

Old style but clean

Jeff was friendly at arriving and leaving. Room was tidy and clean. Furniture and facilities are old, but it is the style I guess. However there is no air condition in the room, but only a heater. It was not allowed to open windows. It could be a problem for hot days. For the first half of night, we have trouble to sleep because we heard cars raced down or up the street every 5 - 10 mins. Breakfast is nice and had a few choice.

Quiet comfort near many restaurants

The Lodge on Elizabeth is quiet and very comfortable. The downstairs lounge and library are a haven and a place to meet other travellers. The location is excellent: close enough to Salamanca Place to walk there, and surrounded by a variety of restaurants also in walking distance. We parked our hire car with no fuss. The hosts, Geoff and Julie are full of information and quietly efficient, though never obtrusive. The excellent breakfasts were served in a charming room with views. The garden was delightful. A refreshing place to stay.
