Steeped in history, this luxurious two bedroom penthouse in the iconic Gibson’s Mill building is just steps from Hobart’s stunning waterfront.

The split-level loft-style converted warehouse has a contemporary feel, with a private balcony overlooking the water and secure parking.

Experience Hobart’s renowned waterfront restaurants, bars and cultural attractions, or just five minutes walk to Salamanca Place or MONA ferry terminal - perfect for a group of friends, couples or a corporate trip.

The Space:
The Gibson’s Mill building is etched into Tasmania’s rich history, operating as a family owned flour mill business from the mid-1860’s, becoming Tasmania’s largest flour mill until it was sold in 1979.

It began a new life after a stunning architecturally designed conversion, retaining its industrial original features such as exposed brick, steel and wooden beams, and high loft-style ceilings.

The building’s period facade dating back to 1890 with Gibson’s Mill signage stamps its place in Hobart’s working class history.

The penthouse – one of the most premium in the boutique 12 apartment building offers space and an edginess that Hobart has become known for.

Split over two levels, the lower level features a modern fully equipped kitchen with sleek appliances, large dining and lounge room, bathroom and bedroom with King sized bed and built-in-robes.

Light and bright, the large arched period windows in the communal spaces offer beautiful views of Hobart’s Waterfront.

Upstairs via a spiral staircase is dedicated to the master bedroom with King sized bed, workstation, spacious ensuite and large robe, as well as a deck with outdoor furniture to take in the stunning views over towards Salamanca and wharf.

The penthouse features all modern conveniences including ducted aircon, euro laundry with washer and dryer and secure car parking for one car.

The best of what Hobart has to offer is right at your doorstep. Walk five minutes in any direction for an abundance of bars, cafes, restaurants or the CBD. Try Aloft restaurant on Brooke Street Pier, Daci & Daci Bakers for a delicious pastry, or the Telegraph Hotel next door for a pot of Cascade beer. Head to the vibrant cultural scene of Salamanca Place for dinner, or the Saturday morning weekly market.

Please note the stay is located near the waterfront precinct, some apartments experience late night noise from adjacent restaurants, clubs and pubs, particularly on a Friday and Saturday night.

You can easily walk around the city from the apartment, or Metro Tasmania bus stops are located all over the city to get you around town or nearby areas.

Taxis and Uber are also available, as well as Neuron and Beam scooters to hire via apps.

Please note there is parking available during your stay but the carpark is very tight and small cars are recommended only. We take no responsibility for any damage that may occur whilst parking in our facility.

Great Location

The apartment is in an excellent location with a secure carpark. Checkin instructions were clear. The apartment was clean and has everything required with good cooking facilities and a washing machine and dryer. However, as there are no windows that open at all, it was very stuffy and uncomfortable unless the air con was used. There was no fresh air at all. Also, the balcony is a very small space and is located up the spiral staircase off the bedroom so is not easy to access or to utilise and does not allow any air flow through the main area of the apartment.

Fantastic waterfront location

The property was well situated on the waterfront conveniently located to the harbour, restaurants and ferries. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only downside was the bed and pillows. Aside from that it was fantastic. We are a family of 4 and we had a great stay.
