We enjoyed all 3 of our stays and other than the lack of a protein source other than yogurt, breakfast was nice and there was an option for cafe Americano. Some minor maintenance issues should be addressed but overall we liked the warmth and quaintness.

My only suggestion would be more protein sources. Yogurt was the only one offered and it was always vanilla. More fresh fruit would have been appreciated as well

The place was quaint and cozy which is what we look for. Breakfast was ample and the coffee excellent. Staff was very helpful and being able to store our large suitcase there till we got back from a short trip was a fantastic perk

Making contact once I arrived was challenging. The buzzer/door bell was inoperative. The phone number was not accurate. Once access was given the wrong floor was given. My room was tucked in a back section of the building down a narrow corridor. Noisy with mosquitoes. Down steep steps to a bathroom. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly and helpful though. Accommodations are very overpriced at $213. Would not stay here again.

This property is located about 20 minutes walking from the cathedral. Is a quiet location. The reason of the 1 star is the lack of communication and false advertising. We arrived to the hotel after 3 pm (checking time) and nobody was at the reception, I had no line to call an Italian number, good thing one of our friends arrived and he was able to call. We got the codes to get in, I rented 2 rooms, both with private bathroom, A/C and hairdryer. As soon as I got into my room, the temperature was 24/25 (75/77), which it was pretty hot for me, there was no control remote for the A/C, there was no hairdryer neither. I contacted the hotel via Expedia and no answer. Waited few hours and message again and silence. The other room that I rent it, didn’t have a bathroom inside the room… you had to leave your room, walk in the hall, go downstairs and you will see the bathroom. Showering was another problem.. the water accumulated at your feet, almost overflowing if you took a shower that lasted more than 4 minutes. The hotel finally answered back 24 hours after my checkout to tell me that it seems that the people staying in the same room before us probably stole the hairdryer and that did not believe the room was hot as nobody else complain about the rooms being hot just me. Customer service is just horrendous.

Quaint. Feels like you are staying in the real Florence. Desk manned for only a portion of the day. If you are arriving late, ensure you contact hotel for entry codes and room key. There is a code to building, code to floor of hotel and then key to room. Walkable from train station and walkable to attractions.

The bed needed to be replaced- broken springs along one edge! Very very basic, except the breakfast, which was a lovely, plentiful continental breakfast if you got there right at 8. It is a 20 minute walk to all the sites (which feels long when it is so hot in July!), 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella station, and a 6 minute walk to a great price-fixed place for dinner, Trattoria do Giorgio (Only 15 Euro per person for 1/4L wine or soda, a primi piatta like pasta and an entree + a side dish...so yummy, we went both nights we were in Florence. Get there close to 7 if you can, or you may be waiting a while).

WORST EVER STAYING EXPERIENCE

Can not be worse. It's local ONS guest house and not a hotel. Entrance locked, property doors locked and no one to open for 30 minutes. I stand on rad knocking the door for 30 minutes. Can you beat that? Once a guy turned up who is supposed to be manager, from outside, he shared two codes to get in. I booked the best/largest room, but what I was given was the left out room. No A/C, plenty of mosquitoes, no warm water and moreover, no one to attend you in case if you die there. TOILET IN THE CORRIDOR. WORST EVER STAYING EXPERIENCE.

good B&B in Firenze

La Corte dei Principi has some rooms in one of the buildings in Firenze. We enjoyed staying in an authentic building rather than a larger hotel. The staff was very welcoming and the room was comfortable. The only drawback is that it is about a 20 minute walk to the centre of the Historic Area.

Perfect spot at a good price

Found this last minute and what a steal for the price. It's situated in a great location outside of the main city center area but within 15-25 minute walk anywhere in Florence. The hotel is a little hard to find but look for the Officina restaurant and the hotel door is right there. You have to park at a local garage which there is one down the road for $25 euro a night. It does have A/C and breakfast. Wifi was sketchy. Overall, great find for the price.

The most horrible service we ever received!!!

We spent 10 min. trying to find the hotel till locals pressed a button in an ordinary apartment building. The sealing in hotel (picture attached) under the stairs was too low and not marked. I hit my head and scratched glasses. In shower no body wash. Everything felt humid, cold and even clothes became wet. Opening the cover on the bed we found some insects!!! Next morning we complained and asked to give us a heater or do something. Reception spoke very poor English, but screaming that they not going to do anything and one complain doesn't change hotel’s rating! They don't care about us! We decided to leave, even next night was payed. On the way out from the hotel ran into another person who called himself manager and tried to explain again how bad was our day. He looks as drank! He had the terrible response seemed be happy that we are leaving. Last we heard was Get out! Thanks Hotels.com, they kindly responded to the horrible situation and refunded payment as well as all points.

Keep away.

We were totally disappointed, The property was poorly sign posted in fact was not sign posted at all , I had to ask two shop owners where this establishment was . Standard of cleanliness was non existent in my opinion, Breakfast was less than satisfactory .The advertising indicated a quality establishment displaying fine photographs ,I can only assume they had been taken some time ago as the establishment no longer resembles the said photos . We booked in for 3 nights but left after 1. Consequently being a substantial amount financially out of pocket . Needless to say we would not recommend this establishment. We don't understand how it was rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel.com.

Cheap and cheerful

Basic hotel, a bit dated but the rooms are a good size and it is in a good location, quite close to the river and walkable from the train station. Friendly staff and everything in the rooms worked as it should. Bathrooms a bit cramped but clean and shower was hot.

Beautiful hotel with awkward check-in on Sun eves!

Check-in was definitely strange - no one staffs the desk after 19:00 on Sundays, so they left me a note with a phone number to call and then instructions to pick up my key from a nearby business! It could have been a disaster if I hadn't been able to dial Italian phones from my mobile!

Great hotel!!

On a trip to Italy that required three different hotels, this one was our favorite. The room was huge. It had an entryway and a huge bathroom. It was very quiet. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is close to Santa Maria novella station. We unfortunately we up too early to try breakfast, it started at 8am.
