A beautiful property with very friendly staff. Spotlessly clean and good location. It was very busy though and there were never enough sun loungers by the pool or umbrellas on the beach. Light switches in bedrooms were crazy, and very few amenities in kitchen space i had in my studio. No cleaning products, no teatowels, had to go out and buy things to use. My bin wasnt emptied for 2 days either. Very nice touch though getting a birthday cake and balloons on my birthday. Good and some small details, then let down on others. Overall good though.

The Dukes had generally lovely customer service and a good breakfast. The room is comfy and spacious but I am very well travelled and have never seen such a poorly designed bathroom. There is a fixed glass plate, wall to ceiling that is about 3cm from the bath and so long across, you cannot get to the taps without climbing into the bath and while you are showering the smell from the scum that has built up on the glass but no one could reach to clean without great effort is overpowering. The water from the shower also just runs down the glass and onto the floor. I cannot fathom what they were thinking when this was designed. The trip was with my 4 year old and I didn't find the pool area very conducive or welcoming to small children. No jumping allowed, boring and the pool is too deep for little ones that can't swim. There is no shallow end. The lazy river was also out of action. At breakfast we asked for a table overlooking the fountain, we were there super early and it wasn't busy. We were told the table needed to be wiped and very firmly put elsewhere. Unnecessary and not the go out of your way to please customer service you expect to find in Dubai. All that said, I left my charger behind and thankfully was in Dubai to collect. The process was very easy and I was thrilled they had found and kept it for me. Das Hotel würde ich nicht weiterempfehlen. Das ist kein 5* Hotel, eher ein schlechteres 4*. Sonnenschirme am Strand reichen nicht für die Liegen aus. Die Sommerschirme, die es hat, sind aber sehr beschädigt. Schützen nicht wirklich vor der Sonne. Das Hotel ist an einigen Stellen in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben 2 gleiche Zimmer gebucht. Das eine paar erhielt ein minderwertigeres Zimmer. Auf Reklammation gaben sie ihnen ein anderes Zimmer, welches jedoch ein Rohrproblem hatte, was dazu führte, dass das Zimmer schlecht riechte. Sie konnten das Problem nur teilweise beheben. Ein anderes Zimmer gab es nicht. Bei der Buchung hiess es, dass wir 25% pro Tag auf Getränke und Essen erhalten würden. Im Hotel hiess es plötzlich nur VIP Gäste. Das stand aber niergends so. Die Zimmer waren sauber, aber es gab kaum Ablagefläche für 2 Köffer.

The Dukes has to be the most competitive price for a hotel in Dubai. No, this isn’t the Madinat Jumeirah, but it’s less than have the price. For that the value is exceptional. Staff were friendly and attentive, in particular at guest services and in the all round amazing Khyber restaurant. We will definitely we returning here.

Location was convenient for most things. Apart from easy taxi availability, very near to the local tram stop. Excellent breakfast and other onsite restaurants, especially the Khyber for authentic quality Indian cuisine. Only minor criticism is the lack of USB sockets in the bedrooms, and main outdoor pool was few minutes walk from main hotel building.

There were a few issues I had whilst staying at the hotel. I had no hot water so the first shower was freezing cold. However as soon as i reported it someone came and fixed it. The next thing was access to my room. The key card intermittently worked and then on final night did not work altogether which being late at night was not something you want to wait for security to then come and fix it. However there is alot of good parts for instance the staff are very warm, respectful and courteous. Anything you want they are there. My mother had a birthday and they decorated her room with balloons and cake. It is a nice hotel and would stay there again.
