The minimalistic, cocoon style concept behind the hotel is amazing, cosy rooms, location is great and the staff were friendly and did their best to accomodate my needs. It is great to escape back to the peace and quiet of your room after a day in the heart of London.
As stated on the website, the minimalistic style means there are no windows, coffee facilities, TV, hotel phone etc. but I enjoyed this aspect.
The operational/maintenance side of the hotel is a bit of a mess however.
Some of the additional facilities are not complete and this should be clearly stated on the website, ideally exact months of completion instead of seasons.
The lifts are a mess; some do not take you to your floor, others open with the wrong side door opening (to a blank wall!), the voice announcing what level you are on/if it is going up or down is completely wrong.
Fittings/finishes in the rooms are not yet complete. Bathroom tap was missing a fitting, maintenance simply shrugged their shoulders and said it must have been housekeeping who took it.
The entrance lighting switch was broken and lights flickered constantly unless down to their lowest; again maintenances' solution was to use the mirroring switch above the bed head instead of fixing the one at the door. Their solution to the light flickering was just to turn it down/off.
I want to stress that front of house staff were doing their best and from what I could see, dealing with a number of complaints from other guests.
