Large homeless encampment within 1/4 mile of hotel. Staff does good job of keeping eye on vehicles in parking lot. I was woried stuff in bed of truck would get stolen, but it didn't.

The staff Anthony day clerk and Markitus night clerk were very professional, had great awareness of guest and informative of the surroundings area. And helpful with checking in. The lobby, and rooms were clean and air conditions worked perfectly. The room was located in safe spot on the floor. Thanks Anthony and Markitus for making our stay comfortable. :-)

It served its purpose. It was a mid 3 star hotel. The towels were thin. They did provide a shuttle to and from the airport, which was nice. Bed was not bad. Relatively comfortable. Decent neighborhood with food choices nearby.

The parking lot was well lit and seemed safe. The room was clean and quiet. It would have been nice if there had been decaffeinated coffee along with the regular coffee in the lobby.

When I arrived at the property, staff was friendly and welcoming, however he could not find my reservation. He finally put me in a room. When I went to the room, there was another occupant in the room and we were both confused and frightened. I went back downstairs and explained the situation and the concierge put me in another room which he said was "clean enough, but one of the lights was not working" He said that he would have someone come swap it out, but I dont think that happened. On my penultimate day, housekeeping knocked on my door and asked me if I was checking out today because according to their records the room I was in was to be empty. I said I was to checkout the following day. They advised that I needed to confirm with the front desk. I went down to the front desk and I had to confirm my reservation for the following day. After checking out, I was to be refunded the $75 dollar deposit. Instead, the hotel charged me and kept the $75 without explaining why. I would not recommend that anyone stay here. The rooms and hotel feel old and outdated. It is in a sketchy area and not that close to central or uptown Charlotte. Barely anything in the snack area to eat, which can be tricky if you arrive on a late flight and dont necessarily want to order a full meal. The staff was friendly, but it did not make up for the confusion aroud my reservation that happened when I arrived and even as I was about to leave. 2/5.

Stayed for one night prior to flying out of Charlotte. The bed and bathroom were clean. The a/c did not work in the first room i was given. Was able to change rooms. The window shades were completely down in both rooms and it was impossible to raise them as the chain was broken. The bed and bathroom were clean, the rest of the room (carpet, wall, shades) had stains and grime on them. Not the nicest neighbourhood, but good enough for one night. The staff at the front desk were friendly.

We had an overnight layover, so it was a very brief stay. The hotel feels a little dated, but was mostly clean. The shuttle driver who met us in the morning was bright and friendly.

I hate writing bad reviews but this one is needed. The pics on Expedia are not current, therefore misleading… The property is in need of a lot of repair and ongoing maintenance. OVERALL: Dirty and unsafe feeling. Had to leave immediately. The guy who checked me in had good customer service.
