Well located in the French Concession, this charming hotel evokes life in a different era. Friendly and accomodating staff went out of their way to whisk me into a room early. If you want 6 star fantasy New China luxury, best stay in Pudong. But for a comfortable and memorable experience of a bygone era as part of your stay in Shanghai, this is a good call. May sure you print off the address in Chinese and be clear which building you are in so you can direct taxis to the right place.

The room was fantastic. Clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were fantastic. They were attentive and helpful. The location was outstanding. Lastly the rooftop bar with the views just stunning!
