Enjoyed my stay but had a few issues with my room - light in the bathroom did not work and water pressure in the shower was low. However, the hotel overall was really lovely and I would stay again. Just make sure that you book any spa treatments in advance as these book up very quickly.

This is a three star hotel charging five star prices. Our so called superior room had old furniture and looked like it hadn’t been painted for years. The patio door was almost coming off its rails and had seen better days. The balcony overlooked the M4 and was old and rundown. The bathroom was old fashioned marble with discoloured grouting and even some mould in the shower.The buffet breakfast was quite good but unimaginative. The parking cost us £40 for two nights. Sorry but just not good value given the standard of the room. We won’t be back.

It is a nice hotel and well looked after. Everything seems to be over priced and extra charges for everything. The spa was very busy and not as plush as I had imagined it. Still a great resort and had that old posh feel about it

We were in a chairman suite in the resort nice room. But had cobwebs. We ate in the pad restaurant lovely waitress squid was chewy. Spring rolls were only warm in the centre and the Chicken in the Pad Thai was well overcooked. Drinks are over priced. £2.95 can of pop. £5.50 bottle water 750ml. 2010 Golf course is over booked your waiting on every tee. 5 1/2 hours to get round in a £55 buggy. Halfway house closes at about 5.30pm. Day 2 we queued for 20 mins to get in to the buffet breakfast. Watched the waiter use the napkins to wipe the table with the mess being pushed to the floor. Good selection of food. Driving range needs to be booked. We played the Montgomery, 3.20pm tee time just about made it around in time. Again stacked high. Waited on every tee and also someone behind us. Too many blind holes. A buggy is must. Overnights underground parking £20. On the whole this resort is living off its reputation. Very overpriced. Service is poor. Not enough staff.

Celtic Manor

Room ok but our first room the air con or telephone worked so we had to move rooms The second room did sell of smoke but they did offer the freshen it up. The breakfast was very average food quality not as good as in previous visits
