Stepping out of our cabin and walking 30 paces to the beach to watch the sunrise. Living in the rain forest listening to the birds.

Great location, got a room near the restaurant/bar which was nice. Beach is just metres away from the room.

“Rustic” means tired in this resort

Always willing to give websites some leeway, we definitely felt oversold here. Rustic can feel authentic but in this case it was a tired, rundown unfriendly hut with patched up DIY and unfriendly room layout. Old daggy bathroom too. Sorry, we adore Cape Trib but we wouldn’t recommend this unless you’re a young backpacker as it’s not a romantic escape.

Spent a week there, great food, a lot to do and explore. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay. Rooms are cosy only problem is ants but you are in the rainforest.

Sleeping in the rainforest

We loved being in the rainforest and while the room was cosy for the 4 of us it was clean and comfortable.

Lovely location situated alongside beautiful beach

Pros: The informal atmosphere and the beach.
Cons: Update the accommodation.
Location: Staying almost at the uppermost point of Cape Tribulation in the beautiful Daintree, Go for a bike ride or do the Zip Line through the trees.
This is practical accommodation in a beautiful rainforest environment. Don't expect someone to rush out and help with the luggage. It's not that kind holiday destination. But a terrific location with helpful (but busy) staff. Very organised website where you can book activities. We took advantage of this and all went smoothly for us. You can organise your own cooking in a dedicated kitchen or take advantage of a terrific outdoor eating restaurant/dining platform complete with sectioned off swimming pool (to keep the children happy!). The facility even has an evening bonfire adjacent to the beach for lodgers to gather around and meet after 8.00pm. Very good value.
