Secluded and peaceful part of the daintree

Lovely hosts, wonderful breakfasts and plenty of space to move around. A beautiful horse to greet in the mornings, heaps of birds and animals to watch, find and photograph! Plenty to do and see in the daintree rainforest, would highly recommend the epiphyte to anyone wanting to visit! Thankyou for your hospitality, we very much enjoyed our days there :)

Loved it!

Pros: The experience of the house is as special as visiting a friends house with all the owners art / objects creating a welcoming personal vibe
Cons: Nothing to mention, only I really want to keep this secret for myself it's that good! But that wouldn't be fair.
Location: The place is perfect to stop and rest and really truly unwind. It really was a very healing and restful place and you wouldn't want to leave.
Loved this charming and magical place and only wish I had booked for longer than 2 nights here. The wide open vernadah's with private soft seating nooks and hammocks overlook the lush tropical property and an amazing view. The room was really sweet and comfy. There was a spontaneous BBQ and live music on on one night arranged by the owner which made it so fun and memorable for me. Loved it here!

All you could wish for

Pros: Shared tropical breakfast, the house, the garden, the people
Cons: When the new storage batteries come, Matt will be able to run more refrigeration; we did have a small issue about running my CPAP machine all night
Location: This location is so unique and precious and offers much for the artist, nature lover, in fact anyone who loves the outdoors, a must see
Gorgeous, unique, owner built house, breathtaking view, great breakfasts. Matt's local knowledge means you get the most from your time there, and his obvious love of the Daintree is inspiring. Unless you are welded to your air con and hairdryer (power is a big issue everywhere in the region), this place lacks nothing. The whole living area is open to all guests and sits right in the garden. There's also a couple of stand alone cottages if you want complete privacy.

Very comfortable B & B

Pros: It is charming, very comfortable and quiet
B & B Epiphyte in Cow Bay is incredible comfortable. The rooms are spacious and have their own varanda. Beautiful plants and birds all over. Close to many attracions if you like nature, both for terrestrial and aquatic activities. Matt is very nice and shares all his knowledge of the region - he gave us lots of very useful tips. And we got some space in the refrigerator to have our own food (buy it at Mossman - much cheaper than after the ferry) and the kitchen was open all times for a light snack. We planned to stay 3 nights and decided to extend our trip.

The best eco holiday destination

Pros: The owner is passionate about his Bed and Breakfast and the community and this shows in the care he provides to his guests.
Cons: I am sure there is something but I can't think what
Location: Close to a range of venues both free and paid including the Discovery Centre, walks in the forest and on the beach or you could just sit and enjoy the
What a beautiful place to stay. Matt, the owner is passionate about his B&B, the Daintree and his world environment. This is a superb eco holiday destination, solar powered, set in the beautiful Cow Bay at the lower end of the Daintree rainforest and the beautiful World Heritage National Park. The rooms are comfortable with private outdoor spaces and en-suites. The breakfast is magnificent with fresh fruit, local homemade jams and a range of tea and coffee. The services and willingness to offer suggestions of what to see and do are first class. Friday night at the Crossroads for open-mic and fish and chips is a must do, with your host. Close to a range of venues both free and paid including the Discovery Centre, walks in the forest and on the beach or you could just sit and enjoy the view of Thornton Peak. Easy drive to Cape Tribulation with dozens of things to see and do on the way. Great jump off point to see the reef, truly this is where the forest meets the sea. Thank you Matt for a wonderful few days.
