Great people! I don’t know whatever to say; polite, very accommodating and dedicated to providing excellent customer service! The hotel is conveniently located inside the walls of medieval Rothenburg!

The property & proprietors are great. The service & staff friendly & attentive. Breakfast was good. The location is within walking distance to all attractions. My only complaint is that this property does not have air conditioning or an elevator. Our room was #130. It was the furthest from the reception (~4 separate levels) & being a high floor the room stayed at 30c/86f! That is HOT! All blinds were closed & windows kept open at night. I asked for a 2nd fan & it was immediately delivered. However, the hotel must know this room can get hot & perhaps a portable AC unit should be brought in for extreme heat...or extra bottles of water. The hotel did offer to let us change rooms for our last night but it didn’t make sense to spend time packing just to unpack & repack to leave. Other than the extreme heat- this is a well kept rustic property in a great location.

This is a charming old German hotel. I believe it has been in the same family for many years. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and made sure our stay was good. We were there in March so it was not busy. The breakfast was lovely! We would definitely stay there again! Make sure you do the Night Watchman tour - it was an excellent way to end the day in Rothenburg!

We loved the building. Even though there was no aircon the fan worked beautifully. The one thing missing is a small fridge as there was no way to keep our water cool. Also some meds need to be stored in a fridge so that was a let down. The room had plenty of space to put a small fridge. We are planning on coming back to Rothenburg but would book accommodation that suits this problem which would be pity as we loved the location.

This was such an amazing stay. We only stayed for 1 night, would have loved to stay for more. The staff were all amazing, the rooms amazing, the food amazing. All in all a great option stay once in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Nice big rooms. Stayed in room 121 which was bright and airy and modern compared to other rooms and had a large bath tub with shower within the tub. It also had a nice view over a pedestrian route and lovely old world charm buildings. Ala carte continental breakfast had variety with cheese, tomatoes, cured meats, yoghurt, cooked eggs, pancakes, some fruit etc. Assistance with luggage provided up the stairs when checking in. Great location within old town. Short 3 minute walk to main square and tourist information office. 15 minute walk to train station.

It was great being able to drop our car and for the hotel to park it securely. We had a lovely large room which was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was a shame the restaurant was closed whilst we were there. We loved the town and would happily stay again

A great hotel. The only drawback is the bathroom had NO door! So if you want to shower or use the toilet, you have no privacy. That part was not liked by any of us. However, the the property and staff were FANTASTIC!!!

This is an extraordinary place to stay!! The couple that run it are so very kind and take great pride in every detail. If you want the true old German feel and culture this is where you should stay. The fact that we looked out our bathroom window at a medieval fortress wall, and the historic nature of the hotel made it extremely memorable. We loved walking into the town square and around the town from the hotel. We did have a little challenge with getting our breakfasts, but once those were resolved, we had a very pleasant experience.

What a lovely family-ran gem!! Beautiful room with every modern convenience needed. Cozy furnishings and exposed stone, provide the perfect embiance for the quaint town. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and helpful! We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended another night! Perfect setting to enjoy the slower pace of the town. Especially after the tours leave and the town is quiet! 8PM there is a nightwatchman tour-they advised us to go to. Really enjoyed! Thank you for your hospitality!

This hotel is in an historic building inside the old city walls. The rooms are well-appointed, comfortable, and clean. The lighting is nice and warm and there are heavy drapes (not full blackout but dark). There is hotel parking about 5 minutes away on foot. The staff is very kind and friendly. Breakfast was a good value and quite delicious. We definitely recommend and would return on future visits.
