Be wary of noise from occupied rooms around you!
So the positives are that this lodge is very clean and the service of the staff is very good. It’s in a beautiful landscape setting with fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. You do need a car or taxi as it’s far to walk from the station and the route is not great. Check in time is late (4pm) and check out time early (11am). For me my biggest complaint is that it felt like I was staying in a brothel. The sexual noises from all rooms around me and above me were something that can only be described as being in a brothel. The residents didn’t care who heard them and I thought the ceiling above me was going to collapse. This went all on night and I got 2 hours sleep. I did complain to reception staff and they did apologise. If you want convenience this is not the place for you. The reception and facilities are in another building - not ideal. The rooms are very clean though albeit furniture old. It could do with a revamp and soundproofing. There is coffee tea biscuits milk and sugar/sweetener available in the room. Bathtub with shower in it was not powerful but again very clean. The WiFi didn’t work and no phone in room so if you want help in the middle of the night you need to call a number as the outbuilding closes at 10.30pm. This did not feel like a safe place for me to be. Very dark at night. Parking immediately in front of the rooms but again lots of noise from people coming and going.
