The room was very basic but at £85 a night next to the airport I wasn’t expecting much but the family room is not suitable for any children over the ages of 8/9. The sofa bed is tiny and makes a loud squeaky noise every time you move. The walls in the hotel are also made out of paper. The lady next door was so upset that her husband hadn’t packed her face wash, I was almost going to get out of bed to give her mine.

I was quite disappointed with my stay at this property. The condition of the hotel is very old and in urgent need of a major renovation. The rooms and common areas have an unpleasant smell, which made the experience uncomfortable. The location is also problematic — it is far from Stansted Airport, contrary to how it was described, and not convenient at all. The description on the listing was misleading and did not reflect the actual condition or location of the property. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

Good and easy stay for stanstead

It was prior to early flight the following day from stanstead. It was a bit strange staying at services but did the job and a lot less expensive than the hotels at the actual airport. Special shout out to the young lady on reception, excellent service and nice friendly conversation, hotels need staff like this. Well done you 👏 👏 😊
