mbrace nature in this bright home that has gorgeous views to the lake and forest
Our home has been decorated in a modern Coastal/boho style and furnished to be a perfect getaway. We have high-quality beds, natural linens, bamboo pillows and comfortable couch and chairs in the living room.
Our Master Bedroom has a Fluffy mattress, which feels like sleeping in the clouds. Our second bedroom has a Sealy high-quality mattress if you are looking for an in-between.
Our Third Bedroom has a Gravity mattress for people who prefer firm mattresses. (Please know most of our bed frames are lower to the ground, with the exception of one.) Enjoy the heated tile floors in the living room and our heated towel rack in the bathroom.
You have access to the whole property, with the exception of the Basement shop area which is locked and has the garden supplies in there. And the hallways right-hand closet that also has a lock.
Things to know before booking: -The house is built in the side of a mountain and to get to the front door you have to go up a few set of steps. -Two of the bed frames and and the couch are low to the ground. Two of the bedrooms are in the second floor of the house. -During Fall and Winter months there are wind storms quite often, and in Sudden Valley this might mean you will lose electricity for a time. This is usually resolved quickly, but please keep this in mind. Sudden valley is peaceful, surrounded by nature, but it also lacks of some of the big city comforts. A perfect getaway if you want peace and quiet and beautiful views. -During winter time you will have to salt the steps of the house as they might get icy, and will need to shovel the snow if this happens during your stay. We will provide the equipment. -The house has a wood stove which is amazing and warms the home, but you will need to get your own wood if the one provided runs out. -This is a pet friendly home. Our cleaner does her best to remove all fur from all surfaces. We lint roll the couch, ottoman, and vacuum everywhere. Linens are washed after every guest, and our mattress are protected with mattress covers. -This is our family vacation home, please expect there will be some of our items in the house. This is not a hotel. -Longer stays are welcomed, and will be offered a larger discount. If you want to rent our home for longer than a month, reach to me for a special price! -We offer military discount. -If you are an author looking for a bookish getaway, reach out to me!

Was trying to check in early. host said that would be fine. Could not find the place for quite some time directions OK. Need way more visible address number parked in front of the residence noticed about 30 to 40 stairs friends that were staying with us. Wife was on crutches did not have very good explanation on what to expect. They ended up staying in a hotel Friend‘s wife was very pissed. So they had to pay extra to stay in a hotel because she couldn’t walk up that many stairs he carried here to her up once and that was it no go for people with an injury Nice place yes private very much so beds were horrible. Two low to the ground bed frame got my ankles several times recommending get a new bedframe. Or cutting the corners so they don’t stab you in your feet. I have not heard from host about if there will be a discount for the inconvenience of friends having to stay in hotel. Host was very nice but description of property was the main cause for complaint

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and quiet property. The setting is beautiful—surrounded by woods with a lovely view of the lake, making it feel peaceful and private. The wood-burning stove added great warmth and charm during our stay. The kitchen is well appointed, and we were able to cook both breakfast and dinner comfortably. The bed was very comfortable, which made for restful nights. The host was also easy to communicate with, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free.Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We’d be happy to stay again.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable! The main bed was a bit soft for our liking, but that's just a preference - others may love the softness! This was perfect for us! We even have a child with allergies, and he had no issues here, so we know the cleaning was good, too! Thank you for a great stay!

Blissful Getaway
You will find this wonderful home nestled in the mountains with foliage all around, a giant cedar right out the back door and deer roaming the neighborhood. You can even hear the frogs at night. The couch was the perfect level of comfort for relaxing while writing a paper or watching TV. There's a little store at the entrance to the subdivision that has fresh produce if you need it. I found the beds to be very comfortable, and you have extra blankets that are very cozy if you need them. This home requires walking up a bunch of stairs - so book accordingly. I would not book this for my grandma to stay at. The property owners do a good job of describing this, but I wanted to mention it in case it was missed. If you are looking for some nearby outdoor adventures, I recommend the Stimpson Nature Preserve or the hike along the Shores of Lake Whatcom. The Agave restaurant is fantastic, their Mai Tais are delicious!

This is my/our second time at this beautiful BnB and it truly feels like a home away from home, on a cloud. This place has everything you need. It’s a cozy retreat for 2, with room for the whole family should you choose to invite them. Great kitchen and beds!

Pros and suggestions
This home was bright, airy and very clean. The couch was comfortable. The home is in a neighborhood surrounded by trees and a bit of a lake view. It's very quiet. There were lots of towels, and the bed linens were very comfortable. They weren't kidding when they said the bed is low to the ground. Our bed in the first floor bedroom was almost like having the mattress on the floor. We used the woodstove to keep the house at a comfortable temperature. As stated, there are a lot of stairs to get to the front door. The host was easy to reach and replied quickly to our messages. We appreciated that we weren't expected to do a hard cleaning prior to departure.
Some suggestions /things to know: There aren't any instructions for the house, like how to turn on the living room heated floors, how to use their woodstove, or how the TV works. There are several coffee makers and something that I think was a milk frother but not sure since there weren't any instructions. I think it would be helpful to have a list of these instructions as well as some practical information like the nearest hospital, the local market, etc. The kitchen has a good assortment of pots and pans but has no aluminum foil, plastic wrap or salt and pepper.

Hilltop Haven
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this BnB. The feeling you get when walking in for the first time is worth repeating. You know you have stepped into a peaceful place that just as easily hosts family game night in style. I loved the mattress and slept like a log. Camila, the host, was friendly and quick to respond with any question I had. Really went above and beyond.
Wifi worked great! Thank you Camila!

Really nice place though livability of house lacked a bit
We had a wonderful long weekend in Bellingham and really enjoyed staying in this house. We found that on the surface, this house fit all our needs but when it came down to livability, it lacked in a few amenities, such as a functional coffee maker (there was a piece missing that made the coffee not taste so great), a comfortable couch and papasan chairs, and a tv that worked (or at least instructions on how to use it).

Perfect weekend with friends
This house was everything we needed it to be. I’m on the road frequently and stay at a lot of rental properties, and most of the time the decor is cheap and bland. Not the case here! The interior is very comfortable. Beautiful location with amazing views. About 15 mins from town. There are a few quirks such as doors not closing all the way and not having a place to hang clothes in the closets, but those were easy to deal with. Overall, would recommend.

MTB Vacation
Nice location, not the best for mountain biking but you can access trails without a car - loved the grill - lots of space outside on the deck to store bikes out of view, did lock them up just incase. Was a perfect spot for 4 of us to hang out and crash before and after riding all day! Listing is slightly off, there are 3 beds - not 4. But the owner made that clear when I booked so it wasn't a surprise.

Perfect cabin on the lake
This cabin was perfect. The location was easy to find and checkin process was easy. Right when we walked in everything looked exactly like the pictures. The house was clean and spacious. All the windows let in so much natural light. The owners left us firewood to burn in the wood burning fire stove. We couldn’t have asked for a better cabin to stay while visiting Washington. Bellingham is a very cute town with lots of things to do. We went whale watching and hiking in North Cascades during our trip and the cabin was perfect distance in between both. We will definitely be renting this cabin next time we stay.

Quirky House
1. Didn't realize there were 2 flights of decking stairs to reach the front door. Since it was raining, we found the stairs to be a bit mossy and slick. We really had to watch our step.
2. The upstairs half bath sink was interesting. The faucet was so low and close to the sink, you could only wash your fingertips. That sink had an airlock while draining. Very slow to drain then would give a big glug/burb and then drain.
3. We found things that were broken i.e. the main floor bedroom, the window latches were broken off. Unable to secure those windows. Little things were loose on the walls. Shower door would not close properly, leaked water onto floor every time someone showered. Just need someone to come in and pay attention to fix things.
4. Cleaning crew needs to look behind curtains and clean the cobwebs from the corner of many of the windows.
5. The expresso machine is missing the basket. Unable to use it.
On the plus side, beautiful view, especially the sunsets. It is a quiet neighborhood and very relaxing. The house was charming and nicely decorated. Everyone said all the beds were comfortable.

Quiet treehouse in Sudden Valley
Camila's treehouse in Sudden Valley is perfect if you want to hunker down with family, make a fire and enjoy the beautiful views. It's a good 20 minutes from downtown so plan your outings accordingly. My only complaint is that the house was FREEZing cold when we arrived (heat was not on) and took some time to warm. Also, there was no binder explaining how to find/run anything in the house (TV, remote, heaters, etc.). Camila was VERY responsive, however, and our time there was magical.
