I really enjoyed looking out at the river, however I found the hotel room rather dated and ordinary, the prints on the wall a bit cheap and dull.
The service at the café in the morning was excellent which surprised us as we had been before and they took ages.
We spent a night at the Homestead Motel recently. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is quite dated but it is clean and quiet. The air conditioning in our room didn't work properly because the swing flap was broken, and the ceiling fan made a bit of a noise but we were all tired so this was not too much of a problem. If you are looking for somewhere central and reasonably cheap, this place fits the bill.
Stayed 1 night and the owner Leanne, had just replaced the bed with a new soft bed, good timing.
The room presentation was excellent in terms of quality of furnishings and decor, and there is constant improvement and updating in the rooms to maintain that quality.
The parking is very convenient right next to the rooms so very easy to load and unload bags.
Possibly the only downside was the cars being so close meant it can be a little noisy coming and going.
The owner was very helpful and I would certainly stay here again next time I am in Ballina.
Only 1 night stay in this hotel. I brought my Mortein spray along....hate bugs and crawlies....no need as the recently refurbished queen room was spotlessly clean. Daughter and family stayed in one of the family rooms which was still waiting to be refurbished but nice and clean nevertheless. Would definitely stay again when next visiting Ballina.
