The boat rocks gently and sometimes a bit more. Very relaxing and private. Everything you need is on board. Being on the water doesn’t take special skills but it helps if you are able to manouvre on and of the ship. It is a bit of an adventure and certanly not a everyday kind of stay

Spotlessly clean, really incredible experience, lovely and quiet calming environment, so comfortable with everything we needed. Host is super helpful and kind and was always there anything we wanted help with but also gave us privacy. Can’t recommend this experience enough…wish we could stay longer…we slept so well and had the best time! Loved it!

It was our first time staying on a boat, and it was a great experience! The boat is anchored in a calm spot surrounded by nature, yet it’s only a short trip to the bustling Amsterdam city center. Awesome host and location!

The boat was well maintained and very clean. Casey is a wonderful host. We shared some wine and Dutch cheese and watched the sunset from the boat platform. Enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Beautiful experience and a super friendly host

It was our first time in Amsterdam and we were lucky to find Casey and his boat. The accommodation was near enough to the center and Casey was very helpful with tips and suggestions for our days in the city. Plus, you can swim just stepping out of your bed!

Casey ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Freundlich und hilfsbereit. Staying on his boat is a bit like glamping on the water. The small bathroom takes some getting used to, but you get along well with it. We would not hesitate to holiday there again. The location very close to the city is perfect.

A wonderful time

My grandchild and I spent 3 days in Amsterdam and 2 nights on the House Boat. After being in the city of Amsterdam during the days, we looked forward to the relaxation and the quiet surroundings in the evening and during the night time.The House Boat was very cozy and very comfortable.We enjoyed the sway of the waves on the House Boat. Cosy houseboat

Casey was an amazing host. He explained everything and gave us a lot of tips for our Amsterdam trip. The house boat is an old lady from the 1960s with a lot of Charme and character and peculiarities- you have to treat it carefully. It was an amazing experience.

Guests need to be fit and agile.

Host warned us of potential difficulty getting on board. Boat was comfortable and well equipped. Exterior was not quite ready for guests. Some minor inconveniences didn’t spoil our stay. As sailors we found the host to be lacking in knowledge of his vessel. Public transport was close by or Uber for those of us less fit. It was great to stay away from the bustle of the city.

The houseboat has everything you need, even if it might take a little getting used to at the beginning. Lovely location, place with a lot of charm, very helpful owner, always ready to assist. One should just be aware of what it means to be on a boat- no real cooking possible, just microwave but works fine. Excellent supermarket nearby, quiet lovely surrounding in the countryside though within easy reach of the city center. The only slight nuisance (to me) was the high- voltage line nearby bit other than that great experience- thank you so much!

A unique adventure with a charming host!

We enjoyed two days and nights on this lovely houseboat just outside of Amsterdam center. Our host made everything easy with impeccable communication. The houseboat itself was a fun adventure and we so enjoyed being gently rocked to sleep while listening to the breeze, the waves, and night birds. The view of Amsterdam at night was magnificent. Our Wonderful Week on the Amsterdam Houseboa

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful week we spent on the houseboat in Amsterdam. The boat is not only beautifully designed but also perfectly situated – just about 30 minutes to reach the vibrant city center of Amsterdam (a short tram ride and a little walk), while still being surrounded by idyllic nature and just a stone's throw away from a cozy little town. Whether it was a bike tour, a refreshing dip in the water, or enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city – our week flew by. Our host was incredibly warm and took care of all our needs. It was truly a fantastic holiday, and we will definitely book the boat again.

Such a fun experience

Make sure you go with someone who is open to experiencing a boat and doesn’t complain much. Other than this I loved the boat! The property owner was kind and very helpful. It is not too far from the center, 15-20min scenic walk to center. Was nice to go back to a quiet place after being in the crowded center. If you do not like spiders keep in mind it is a mass above the water, there are friendly spiders. Took Dramamine everyday and didn’t have issues, supermarket isn’t far. The rocking of the boat actually helped me sleep. Lots of rules to keep safe so keep in mind you must be serious to be on the boat as well.Thanks for the experience!

An experience of it's own :)

We had such a fabulous time here! It's small quarters because it's a boat... somewhat of a camper feeling. Being on the water and feeling the boat rocking is so relaxing. Casey was so, so kind and helpful. He thinks of everything- he showed us good places to go in town, explained how to get there on the tram, provided bikes as an option for travel, and even had motion sickness pills available for seasickness. When we ran into a small snag with the accommodations, he came over immediately to help. We definitely recommend staying here if you like adventure and new experiences. :)

The host was the reason that I gave 2 stars instead of 1 but it can be described as 'roughing it' in broad terms, it is not by any sense a House Boat - nobody could live there. It's a boat, you could not stand up in places like the entry or the bathroom. The toilet didn't have a flush but a hose from the sink to drain it.My father and I arrived after taking an overnight flight from the states to Amsterdam. We relied on public transportation thinking that it was only North Amsterdam but I could've seen cows or sheep in the distance from it. On top of that a storm was rolling in and the host said that the boat would likely be going up and down quite a bit.We both read the description but didn't realize that it was more of an experience than a nice place to stay for a couple of days in the middle of nowhere. Complete mistake, the host was gracious enough to give us a ride back to the city limits as we booked a hotel space.

Unique and memorable experience

We had a lovely experience staying on the houseboat! The decor was vintage and cozy, we felt immediatly at home. Casey, the host, was very friendly, forecoming and always open to our needs. We spent a week as a 4-person family in Amsterdam. For such a group the space on the boat is tight, but manageable. We were, however, thoroughly informed about that beforehand. The location of the boat was in a very quiet area, which is wonderful to escape the hectic of the city. The only downside is, that it takes at least 15 minutes to get to the closest public transport by foot, unless you call yourself a taxi/uber/bolt, as Casey actually recommended. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and we came back home with a unique and memorable experience. We absolutly recommend this stay!

Cozy, relaxing place

Casey’s boat is a very cozy and fun place to stay. We stayed there with three people and enjoyed every minute of it. The quiet place and gentle swaying of the boat will let you get a great night’s sleep. There is no cooking in the kitchen, but it has a fridge, tea and coffee, and plenty of other ways to prepare a light meal. The bathroom is bigger than the ones I have seen on boats this size. It has a beautiful half tub and works just like on other boats. The elevated middle room where you enter functions as the living room. We played games there- it was spacious for us and cozy. You can sunbathe outside on top of the yacht or enjoy the atmosphere from a lazy boy seat on deck. Casey is very responsive and generous when/if you need something and gladly gives you information about plenty of things to do in the area. Amsterdam is not far and a great destination for the day. Weather depending there may be an opportunity for you to go on a boat ride in your boat with Casey as the captain. You can tell that he wants you to have a wonderful stay!

Unique Amsterdam New Year's adventure on the water

The boat is ideally situated, about a 10-15 minute Uber ride from the city center. There's a really nice grocery store and restaurant within a 15-20 minute walk along the water. The highlight of our stay was the view of fireworks along the city skyline. It was a cozy and relatively quiet way to ring in the new year. The accommodations itself were really comfortable! It was winter, so obviously it was a bit chilly, but we bundled up and the boat's heater kept us comfortable. Quarters were a bit tight especially in the bathroom, which was expected, but everything worked well and the water was hot. Casey's attention to detail and communication added an extra layer of convenience to our trip. He picked us up from Amsterdam Central station, which was especially helpful with our luggage. Throughout our stay, Casey remained communicative, ensuring that we had everything we needed and provided great recommendations. In summary, it was a lovely and unique experience overall. If you're looking for a memorable and cozy retreat in Amsterdam, with a host who goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, Casey's boat is the perfect choice.
