Terrible hotel lied about agreed refund

There was a bomb on the rail tracks from Paris to Amsterdam and the trains were canceled. Hotels.com contacted this hotel and due to the unfortunate circumstances, the hotel agreed to redund our money. Then 2 days latwr they reversed the decision and decided to charge us anyway. Be careful as they clearly will keep any monies collected regardless of uncontrollable circumstances. By the way all other bookings associated with this trip refunded our money. Shame on you Holiday Inn

The hotel was exactly as expected. Lovely spacious bar and lounge area. Great choices for breakfast including vegan and gluten free. The staff were fab, friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Rowan who went above and beyond and contacted a local hospital after I was injured. If you are staying here, be aware it's about a 1 k walk from the free ferry. You should also get the train from Schiophol airport and not the bus, as the bus station is a lot further. There are 2 supermarkets literally on the doorstep which is very helpful. (Great prices too as we bought the Stroopwaffles there which were about 5E cheaper per pack than in the tourist parts!

The reception staff/check-in counter lady (trying to recall her name) was very courteous and helped us with the check-in! Such team members make your guests loyal to your brand. Breakfast options were great. The shower room half-panel glass door design was a bit awkward, as the water was prone to flow out of the washroom area due to the door design. I always wonder why commercial properties use this format. The property is a bit away from the city center, and one needs to take a ferry ride (it's FREE and convenient), but about a 1km walk. PS. I suggest not taking a cab from the airport to the hotel- it is very expensive (90 euros) whereas UBER or similar options are available for 35 euros.

The stay experience was perfect(Especially the view) but if I were compelled to criticize : the hotel was stingy about the storage spaces. There were no closets, no drawers, even no refrigerator.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Amsterdam during my weekend stay. At check-in, my room was not ready at the designated time, and despite multiple inquiries, the staff kept asking us to wait without providing any clear timeline. Meanwhile, other guests were being checked in without issue. After 45 minutes of frustration and having to argue with the staff, we were finally given a room. On our second night, we requested a breakfast box since we had to leave early at 5:15 AM. The reception assured us this service was available. However, when we checked out the next morning, the staff claimed they were not informed, and as a result, we missed our breakfast due to their miscommunication. Overall, this was a terrible experience. The lack of professionalism and coordination among the staff was unacceptable. I will never book this hotel again, and it severely damages the Holiday Inn brand.

This hotel is fairly new and has a youthful vibe. There is a good buffet breakfast service, which is a part of the room booking. The rooms are a decent size for Europe and modern. Bed was comfortable and well appointed. There is in room coffee and tea service, ironing board and iron. I did not see a room safe, but maybe there was one. The hotel is in a residential area in North Amsterdam that is in transit and expanding hotel options. It is close to a metro station, which is one stop from centraal station on the other side of the river. There is a free ferry service from behind Centraal Station which is about a 10 minute walk. Two large supermarkets next to and across the street. The Jumbo supermarket has prepare foods and made to order pizza service.

At first I thought the destination was too far from the main core of Amsterdam.. but I quickly realized that, that’s far from the case. A short walk takes you right to the ferry which takes you right across the river to the central station! The hotel is very new and modern and upkept. And the room had soooooooo many windows making the night view and morning absolutely spectacular!

Hotel is ok if you don’t mind the ferry and walk ( although there are buses and an underground d until 12:30) Plus when problem arise the volume of customers create an issue. One lift broke down so queues quickly emerged as the weird design of the hotel stairs requires you to go out and use an outside door and the stairs seem more for emergencies as very steep with an open tread. Not good design and not very green/eco for anyone on floors 1-6 who prefers to walk. Breakfast was fine but if a coffee machine malfunctions queues quickly emerge.

Great hotel - a little off centre

Loved this hotel everything was great including the breakfast. The only downside is that there is not too much around the hotel but there is a good supermarket that sells hot food. There is a very good ferry service to the main city centre that runs every 6-10 minutes 24 hours per day. Would definitely stay here again.
