One coat hanger in the room for a week stay with 2 people, floor was covered in dirt and grime as well as leaves blown in due to balcony door being left open, dust all over and hairs in the bed we decided not to risk stopping here after we looked and saw reviews of bedbugs hotel not worth the time of day, shocking.

Very basic room, en suite was good. Very steep stairs from street to 2nd floor reception and another two flights to the room: not for the faint hearted or those with a lot of luggage. Tourist tax is an extra cost.

It’s one thing to advertise no stairs, another to have a carpeted ladder. The room itself was not very clean, there were bugs, the bathroom practically unusable. This was closer to a hostel than a hotel.

I got what I paid for

I was aware that there was no elevator but three flights of steps about 5” deep and a steep vertical incline was ridiculous. Only one outlet in my room worked. I looked at the hotel photos after I stayed there and none of those rooms look remotely like mine. It resembles a monk’s cell.

The closeness to tourist attractions. I didn't like the narrow, steep stairs, but above all, the lack of routes of evacuation in case of an emergency. There aren't any emergency exits, basically, only one entrance, which would be the exit at the same time.

The staff are always what makes this hotel extra special. We have visited with friends as couple and i have a visited solo. Every occasion has felt like a home from home. Polite staff, any little hiccups sorted with mins of speaking to a mamber of staff. As a solo woman traveller i have felt safe. Always a warm welcome alone or with company. Myself and my hisband will not stay anywhere else. Value for money is always a bonus, the only downside is the stairs but it's a sacrifice we are willing to make for the welcoming we receive from the staff. Steph is just a treasure to the company along side many other other staff. If i was to name them all i wouldnt have enough space. Just thankyou to everyone who makes us always want to come back again and again.

No hot water, hot water tap did not work, safe did not work, there was no soap to wash hands. Soap dispenser was broken. Place was convenient to get to but stairs were a pure nightmare to carry bags up and down. Room was cold, thankfully weather was warm. Room was extremely basic, definitely not worth the high price that was charged.

go find a hostel, this felt like a scam or a joke.

there were maybe no bed bugs, I left itchy (even though I slept fully clothed), sick (I'm assuming from the musty window curtains) and almost puked on a regular basis (due to the smell in the bathroom that was absolutely rank.

The building is too old and has no lift, just stairs. To reach the reception, you should go up 37 steps on a very narrow staircase with your bag, which was very unsafe. After that, I should go further 17 steps up stairs to reach my room. The room was poor regarding cleaning, sound insulation, and outside wind/air insulation, as the windows were very old. The cost was not cheap; it was 119 GBP per night with no breakfast.The water drainage in the bath was slow, and it accumulated for a few minutes.

This hotel is in an excellent location, a 15 minute walk from the train station and near sites like the Anne Frank house. I was not prepared for the steep stairs going up to the hotel, especially when carrying my luggage. I got used to that, you have to take your time. The worst part was the cleanliness of my room. Garbage on the floor, razor in the shower, dirt under the bed. I was there for 3 nights, the same things remained the whole visit. Floor was dirty, bathroom wasn’t cleaned (they made the bed, that was it), garbage can not emptied. I knew it would be a small room in an old hotel, I was prepared for that. I wasn’t prepared for the lack of cleaning in my little room. Very disappointed in that, but loved the location.
