A Perfect Stay in the Heart of Woodstock Vesper Bed and Breakfast is a gem in downtown Woodstock. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to all the shops, restaurants, and local sights, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. The rooms are spotless, minimalist, and thoughtfully designed for comfort without unnecessary fuss—simple, cozy, and just right after a day exploring town. Host Jessica is absolutely wonderful—warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making your stay easy and enjoyable. Everything about the place feels calm, easy, and well cared for. If you’re looking for a relaxed, comfortable stay in the perfect spot, this is it. We’ll definitely be back—and you should stay here too.

Would not recommend. In our room at least, there was no overhead lighting, just a teeny lamp on the bedside table and a pretty bulky floor lamp that was just the lightbulb. We could not figure out heating until my husband found a heater stashed in the closet to plug in. Then, we wanted to air out the bathroom, so we had to open the window and go into the same closest and basically diy a screen. Towels were shredding and no soap for the bathroom and only half used shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Stains on the comforter too. Also, just a heads up, if you’re in the room we had there is no TV and minimal outlets. Staff was friendly but didn’t quite make up for all of the surprises we had.

Woodstock was wonderful as always, and the location of The Vesper cannot be beat. Although, we felt the experience was fairly mediocre. Dated and small bathrooms, no climate control whatsoever, limited breakfast and hours, no screens in windows and loud on a busy street when they are open. Won’t be revisiting.

We enjoyed staying at the Vesper. We were on a front room which had continual road noise through the night. But it was kind of white noise and not really loud. The internet was terrible in the room, but it was very good when I went downstairs to the common area. Coffee and tea service and continental breakfast were very nice. And self check-in was very good.
