I give this hotel 5 stars. From the moment I arrived, I absolutely loved the rustic decorations and the warm, cozy atmosphere. The rustic products in the bathroom — from the soaps to the lotions — felt thoughtful and high quality. The complimentary two bottles of water were also a nice touch that made the stay feel welcoming. I especially loved that the restaurant has partnered with Grace Farms and serves coffee sourced from them. Knowing it was locally made made the experience even more special. The teas in the room were delicious — especially the one with ashwagandha, which felt so relaxing and unique. The hotel itself has such a clean, minimalist look, which I really appreciated. The 24-hour gym was also a huge plus. Breakfast was enjoyable, and I appreciated the freshness of everything; however, I do wish there had been a bit more variety, such as eggs and different meat options. That would have made it perfect. Catherine at the front desk was amazing. She was so helpful and took the time to recommend great restaurants and brunch spots in the area. I dined at the hotel restaurant, and everything was delicious — from the cappuccino to the mushroom pasta to the meatball soup. Everything tasted fresh, and that’s something I truly value. You can tell care goes into the food. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful little river next to the hotel, especially with the snow and the Amtrak passing by. The room was nice but poorly lit. For instance, the desk area had no lighting above or near it, made it almost impossible to work there. The staff were pleasant, but maybe not the most professional that I've experienced. That means that many times they were gathered at the reception area (reception staff, cleaning staff etc) laughing and joking with each other. That's ok, but maybe in the staff area, not in reception! Also, we noticed somebody who appeared to work, or help at the hotel ask about providing grooming services for our dog, again, not overly professional. Finally, it was snowing heavily and yet no snow had been cleared. Even at the entrance to the busy main road where modest shoveling would have helped a lot. We have an AWD SUV and got stuck by one exit and had to get it out of that situation to try the entrance, as an exit. Not ideal and I thought for what the hotel costs these points should be addressed.

I was a bit worried as I pulled up to this hotel situated on a main road. Once you enter this beautifully decorated hotel, you know that your stay is going to be great! The room was so clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was just as lovely. The front desk staff is so friendly, and the sitting room is so peaceful and has a terrific vibe. Just be in the know that one side of the hotel, although it has a lovely river view, it also faces a railroad track, so if you aren’t one who can handle the noise associated with a train passing by, you will want to ask to be in a room that faces the main road. If I ever have a need to come back to this area, I will absolutely look to book another stay at this hotel.
