Trip Break in Stamford

We were a couple breaking a long drive overnight in Stamford. Cost, registration and checkout were easily accomplished. The Stamford Diner on the property had excellent food. That was a plus. Worst feature was two small sets of steps to gain access to the elevators. Difficult to negotiate with luggage and when you are elderly. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was damp and had a funny smell, they were doing construction on the rooms across from me. Was there from Wednesday to Sunday and not one time did my room get attended to, no change of towels, my garbage cans were full…. Ice machine was in next floor and had water leaking all over from it, yes I told the staff…. They put a tiny bucket which was overflowing. also two doors down someone had a dog that was barking 8am in the morning…. The pool which was main reason I picked this hotel it was indoors, down for maintenance the whole time. I would not recommend this hotel and which I could get a refund for the inconvenience. Was not worth the price I paid. Disappointed!

My only problem was the pool was not open, room was ok and they was someone long price of hair in the shower. Also Your only can have one key card because there’s not enough to go around. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly. Breakfast was just basic.

Linens were clearly not changed by the time we checked in as there was hair and stains on the linens. Breakfast was deplorable so we didn’t even bother. Room looked run down. Bathroom didn’t have a fan. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

There really wasn’t much to like about this place, other than the fact that the building had been freshly painted. When you walk up to the check-in area, the doors look outdated and worn. There was even tape on the outside wall, apparently holding part of it together. Check-in itself was easy since it could be done from your phone. However, there was paint splattered around the entrance, and the pool located right in the front closes at 7 PM, which is disappointing. Kids look forward to swimming, and the pool should definitely stay open until at least 10 PM. The property is not handicap accessible when it comes to getting to the elevator. There was paper covering broken glass, and only one elevator was working. The floor didn’t change, so you had no idea what floor you were on. Although the doors were freshly painted, you could still see old lock outlines. Inside the room, things didn’t get any better. There was no lounge chair in the two-bedroom unit, and nowhere convenient to put your bags just a few small hooks on the wall, which weren’t helpful. They gave us a used lotion bottle, and to make matters worse, the bathtub wouldn’t drain properly. After every shower, we had to rinse our feet again it was gross. Exposed wires were hanging from the wall, which is dangerous, especially if you have small children. When we got into the room, we found bugs on the bed. We asked to switch rooms but were told they were fully booked. Just close this hotel & redo it furniture outdated

The carpets were dirty inside the rooms, but especially in the hallways. You had to go upstairs to use the elevator from the lobby. How are people with disabilities supposed to do that? And all of us that have to do it with suitcases and luggage? The bathroom was old and dirty, I would never take a bath in that bathtub. And all of the facilities were old and worn out. This is the third hotel. I have stayed in on this trip and they have all been subpar and but expensive. I don’t know what’s happening to our hotel chains because These were reputable like Ramada, Wyndham and La Quinta. The only hotel I stayed at that was very nice was Staybridge and that was beautiful. Unfortunately it was booked for the remainder of my trip. I’m not surprised. I’m not sure what is happening to the hotels in our country, but they are underserved, poorly equipped, and the service shoddy. I would not eat breakfast in any of the hotels except for Staybridge as I was worried about the filth in the kitchen. This is horrible news for the state of travel. I can’t imagine what a visitor from overseas would think of our accommodations. It’s embarrassing.
