The place was very dirty. Furniture was broken. AC made a horrible loud noise.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic stay at The Garland and would definitely return! The staff was outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Our room was spotless, comfortable, with great A/C, a large TV, and a modern, spacious shower. The free trolley to Universal Studios Hollywood was a huge plus. It runs hourly from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM to the park and returns from 8:15 AM to 10:15 PM. The hotel is only about 1.5 miles from Universal, with easy access to the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The pool area is beautiful, featuring a large pool, a poolside bar, and two hot tubs—one for adults and one for families. There’s also a well-equipped gym with cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. We really enjoyed the restaurant as well. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of tasty options at a reasonable price. Overall, The Garland exceeded our expectations with its excellent service, comfortable rooms, great amenities, and convenient location. Highly recommended!

Property was nice. They had a nice free breakfast. The staff was not always aware of the hotel policy and therefore cannot help the guests. I was charged a deposit twice. The room was a studio with an extra wall. I cut our stay short because there were 3 beds but barely any room to move. The rooms are over priced considering there is very limited space.

Starting with what is great...location, parking, and breakfast! Just a few things to know...if you are traveling with older kids, the family suite with the two twin beds is not really ideal for kids older than maybe 11. The two twins are put together to make a king against a wall (so one kid has to climb over another for any middle of the night needs). The room is cute and would be great for young kids. It's about a 30-minute walk to the waterfront and not too difficult with hills. Re: parking, just know you need to pull through a gate that isn't super obvious the first time you visit (and then you can't access the lobby until you get through the gate). The little courtyard is nice for breakfast. It's a solid choice for a San Fran visit.

There should also be a choice for half stars, I would rate the hotel as a 4.5. I never give perfect, because I believe there is always room to improve. I am very happy with my stay the only thing I wish would have been explained better was regarding parking, we travel with a cargo box on top of our car and were told it would not fit in the parking garage. We were told we’re to park but nothing else. We took our car out and upon return had a valet who was less than friendly give us a small talk of what we were doing wrong. I would come back in a minute, to see the entirety of the hotel.
