Benchmark - accommodation in Walsingham

The property just like any resort has lots of things to do and lots of entertainment, however, the property is outdated. The 2 elevators take forever to arrive (be prepared to wait 5-10 min at a time to get on the elevator). Taking the stairs down is always faster. The pools and hot tubs have cloudy water with lots of chlorine. Spending any time in the pool is tough due to the strong smell of chlorine. The rooms are also outdated. Have a super loud HVAC that will not let you sleep at night. The bathroom ceiling tiles rise when the AC unit kicks on, then slam down when the unit turns off. The sliding door to the balcony is hard to open and close due to the rollers not working. Same issue with the closet door. The bathroom has a gym shower and a toilet that barely flushes. Other amenities on the property are also out of date or are old and dirty. Hammocks are torn, day beds have stained pillows and mattresses, lots of trash around from previous guests.

TV did not work. I go to call the front desk, only to find the phone doesn't work and it's Saturday of March Madness. I walk down to the front desk and alert them of both issues, and they say they're sending someone up. 30 minutes go by, no one shows up. I go back down and inform them NO ONE has shown up. Finally a maintenance person shows up, spends an hour on it, swaps out the TV, and it still doesn't work. We give up. The next morning, the doorknob on the bathroom door falls off. We check out the next day and their compensation for all this? A $20 discount on the room. This hotel is garbage, avoid at all costs.

The room was average - but did have a beautiful view and fun activities for the kids and family.
