Lovely hotel, absolutely brilliant location. We received a lovely welcome and told about the room. The room itself was fabulous, well decorated and a pleasant place to spend time. The TV was huge, and the bed was extremely comfortable. well stocked mini bar, an Illy Nespresso style machine and great views made the stay even better. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend Velvet to anyone looking for a great hotel within walking distance of the bets bits of the city.

I have stayed here many times for convenience for work and celebrations with my husband and friends. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely will be coming back. I had a up expected upgrade which was so nice to receive.

6/10 experience, good but not great by any means

Experience was sub-standard. Great room, windows on roof dirty, very dusty room. For the best room in the hotel, the water did not work in the bath, after telling reception, we were moved to a room where the lights didn’t work upstairs. For a premium room of premium price, experience was poor. Very comfortable bed & a pleasant night of sleep. Lovely bathroom, very very spacious. Wouldn’t book the deluxe balcony suite again, but maybe the signature suite to try.

The property manager was pretty unreasonable and unresponsive. I had to cancel my trip last minute due to a family emergency and they refused to answer me until two days later about a cancellation and then didn't even partially refund me, they charged me for the entirety of the stay, even though I never set foot in the hotel. I feel a hotel should accommodate in cases of emergencies, at least give partial refunds.

Unlike other hotels the Velvet lives up to expectations and delivers what it promises. We were met by a great host and given a glass of Prosecco on check in. One of our rooms wasn’t quite what we expected but we were quickly moved to another room which exceeded expectations and our stay was amazing. We would recommend and so would our friends who we booked the other room for. Great value for money and fabulous rooms!

Wedding Anniversary!

Celebrating our wedding anniversary. Had a lovely welcome drink of Prosecco. Walked into a beautiful room, decorated with heart shaped balloons, little snacks and a hand written note. This made it so special and welcoming. Did not expect this at all. The bed was so comfortable and all areas including the bathroom were clean. The room was very spacious. The fridge was full of drinks and there was a snack basket in the corner. Tea & coffee facilities. Breakfast arrived on time. A standard continental breakfast with pastries. All staff were lovely and attentive.
