We had a nice stay overall, but with one major disappointment. The location is excellent—very central and easy to walk everywhere—and the inside of the apartment is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need for your stay. However, I specifically chose and paid for this property because of the terrace and canal views, and unfortunately those were completely blocked by construction nets and scaffolding. The terrace was also covered in dust from the construction. This was extremely disappointing—I actually cried when I saw it. I had spent so much time carefully selecting the perfect place for what was a very special trip, and the view was a big part of that experience. There was no advance notice about the construction, which made it even more frustrating. The host mentioned that they had no control over the construction itself, which I understand. However, they do have control over communication and ensuring that the listing accurately reflects the current conditions. Updating photos or notifying guests in advance would have made a big difference in setting expectations. While the host did send someone to clean the terrace and communicated with us, the issue wasn’t the cleanliness—it was that the main feature of the property was not available as advertised. If the views are not important to you, the apartment itself is a solid choice. But if you are booking for the terrace and canal view, I would strongly recommend confirming the current conditions before booking.
