I am very happy to stay at this hotel. Staff were nice. Room is big, clean, and great amenities. Close to everywhere I need to go. Water taxi, food, and main attractions just 5-10 minutes walking. Definitely recommend it.

Really liked my stay here! It’s a clean, no-frills hotel just a 5-minute walk from St. Mark’s Square. Gina and her colleague were super helpful — they even messaged on check-in day to make sure I found the place easily. If you’re arriving in Venice, take a water taxi to the San Zaccaria stop; the hotel’s an easy 5-minute walk from there. Lots of restaurants and bars around, and the rooms are simple but comfortable — perfect for a short stay in the city.

Although our experience was very good, at 7pm there were two families that we ran into that were trying to check in. No one was there and no one was answering the phone. We stayed with them for over 30 minutes when one family finally left to go to a different hotel, and the other family finally got contact with them after asking another hotel to reach out. We do not speak Italian and when I got one person on the phone, she said it was a residential line and to come back in the morning. She was very rude. So, with that: be careful and if you know you won’t be arriving early in the day, either find somewhere else to go or get in contact with them early. I’ve never seen anything like this before and am shocked. The poor families just wanted to get to their rooms after long days of travel and to get out of the rain.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Shower pressure was good too and the view to the canal from the room. Only negative things were that the reception has very limited opening hours and also the windows and doors could be more soundproof.

La Locandiera was a very pleasant, convenient, and relatively affordable place to stay for a first trip to Venice. The location could not be more convenient to visit the major sites and is central to the rest of the city. Though the building is old, the room was immaculate and well maintained. Guests should know reception is only open during the day. We checked in at night and used the self-checkin instructions without issue. The air conditioning was very effective.

We stayed here for 2nights before going to Verona (myself & my sister) on the 3rd floor triple room. The host Whatsapp'd on the morning of arrival, confirming timings with instructions on how to get there. Our host was there on arrival, checkin was easy & she was friendly. Easy walk from airport boat & a great location to the explore the streets, few minutes walk to St Mark's square & waterfront. Plenty of shops, restaurants etc beside it. Small lift plus few steps to 3rd floor. 1 at a time + case in lift, OK for us but wouldnt be accessible for all. Room faced into the small courtyard area to the front of the building & had shutters, windows & netted curtain. It was also mostly quiet, considering the convenience of location was a bonus! I took the small sofa type bed which was fine (we knew what we were booking) & fairly comfortable considering. The room was clean, towels & spa slippers provided. A mini fridge which I hadn't realised was in the room when booking, as well as kettle & large tv. I met the gentleman host, who was going to clean the room - we were only staying 2 nights so didn't feel needed, he offered instead fresh towels etc Bathroom clean & shower hot. Overall good wee spot, had all we needed but it's more like an Airbnb room than hotel but would be happy to stay again, if the price was reasonable enough again too.

Basic but in good location. Nothing fancy.

Hotel is in a hidden area and very rustic. Receptionist was friendly but the room was smoky. It does have an elevator which is huge! Dog outside in neighboring building barked ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT Until after 10pm. Just prepare yourself. My wife complained about the bed being too hard. I thought the shower in the tub was slippery and a bit dangerous with no mat, but does have astool you can put in.

Overall liked the hotel. The staff were super nice and friendly. The only downside was the A/C didn’t work. Luckily the temperature was comfortable enough to open a window… but then mosquitos were everywhere in the room. Great location (3 minutes to San Marco square), great staff, but one flaw with the A/C made the stay a little less than perfect. Would recommend in the future though.
