Hotel room was large enough to accommodate my family (2 adults and 2 young kids). Our panoramic room had great city views and also a view of Mount Fuji. Only issues we had were the fact that despite our booking/reservation being for 4 guests, we repeatedly were only given 2 bath towels daily and had to call for extra towels for 4 days in a row (despite telling them on the phone there are 4 guests and to update their housekeeping records). In addition, there is no air conditioning in the room - it gets hot. The hotel had to supply us with a fan so we could sleep a bit more comfortably. Towels Air con

Staff are very friendly and ready to help. The triple room is comfortable and spacious for a family with an elder kid. Shuttles from both airports in Tokyo and connected to the sunshine city shopping center.

Room was dirty. There was even some garbage on the carpet when we went into the room. Carpet is really old and teared. The bed is not clean, all of us feel itchy after only sleeping one night. One of us even has rash. Location is good. However the hotel did not upkeep, it’s old and dirty. They claimed the hotel already renovated, but I didn’t feel any renovations. I’ve been staying this hotel couple times. It is getting worst each time. Try to give more chance but I’m pretty disappointed after all this. I think I will not come back anymore.

Tokyo trip 2024

Second stay here on the same trip. My room was on a higher floor this time. Everything else remained great, except that our housekeeping was less attentive for this floor. We had to keep requesting for an extra towel for our infant, when our previous housekeepers restocked for us without asking. We also found toys our infant had dropped under our bed after the room was made up. A pacifier was also left under the bedsheets by the housekeeper. Again, other than that everything else was great. The reception staff helped us with getting a taxi to the airport at 5am. They also pointed us to the nearest post office if we needed to mail stuff back home. Families with young children can also easily buy diapers at the Babiesrus in the shopping mall. There are also bigger supermarkets within walking distance. Overall, we will definitely consider staying here again.

Room I stayed in was quite small so we had to keep our 2 suitcases under our beds. Washroom has a step so had to remember to step up. Room has kettle and fridge and window with the view of the city. I asked for extra pillows twice and couldn't get it from staff. Two pillows provided are very small so they are both like one. I think Sunshine Hotel should get some more big pillows for their customers. You sleep better if you had pillows you like. So why not provide more pillows for better sleep? There is a 24h convience store near the lobby to buy some food. 10 min walk to subway station. Very nice aquarium and observatory in the same complex of buildings. You can watch Fuji sunset from observatory for around $6. Aquarium highlight are pinguqins swimming above your head and there is a view of the city buildings in the background. Looks like pinguins are swimming between them. Shopping mall also inside the Sunshine city complex and in vicinity. Very nice bakery shop near Ikenabakuro subway station entrance 35.

Good and bad.

High step into bathroom should be eliminated. As a disabled, it is very hard to step into and out of bathroom. Now, in a room for tour group. Same problem with high step. Room is large but luggage racks could be placed in room. Very hard to put luggage on the floor and pack/unpack.
