The location is very convenient, and the hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Daigo at the front desk—he went the extra mile to help me resolve a non-hotel-related issue, showing incredible patience and attentiveness. Check in and check out was easy. All staff speaks English. Location is very nice and quiet, station is just a stroll away with the mall and ameyoko. 7/11 is about 3min walk. It’s very spacious for an apartment in Japan !! Will definitely recommend or book at the another Mimaru.

Having used other Mimaru apartment hotels across Japan, I would continue saying that the level of service is excellent all around. We stayed in the Asakusa one the year before, but on this occasion we wanted to stay a little away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel is about 5-7 minutes walk away from the Ueno train/metro station via the Iriya gate tunnel and entrance. The hotel doesn't have the walk out into the middle of the attractions feel, but if you want somewhere a bit quieter, and within reach of excellent transport links to other parts of Tokyo, this is a great location to stay in. You have Shinkansen, Yamanote JR line and Metro. In the immediate area, there are not so many shops, being underneath a highway, but both 7Eleven and FamilyMart are just short walk away, and 5-7 minutes away are a selection of fast food, izakayas and independent eateries. We had an unfortunate event which meant we missed our first night and the staff went out of their way to contact Expedia and claim one night of the accommodating back for us. Very impressed and grateful for the help there. On a day to day basis, the staff were extremely helpful from providing amenities, suggestions of nearby eateries and things to do. Top tip regarding laundry - there is a panda themed (the symbol of Ueno) laundromat within 1 minute walk of the hotel. Given the 3 machines in the hotel are in demand, the external laundromat is a lifesaver and I think has a better combined washer/dryer machine.

It was a very nice room, loved the bunk beds! I also really enjoyed the shower room, and I definitely recommend this hotel for families on vacation. The only downside was that the toilet room smells terrible- turn on the deodorizer to help! But other than that, I think this is a great hotel and I hope you will enjoy it too!

Pokémon room was so great! The staff are wonderful and helpful. I don’t love Ueno as an area compared to other areas in Tokyo (big freeway, feel like there’s fewer cool restaurants) but it’s very handy for the airport train

The staff was multilingual and very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and maintained very well. I liked the available laundry facility and the accessibility to Ueno station, Ueno Park, and walking distance to Asakusa and Sensoji Temple.
