Amazing location, and very comfortable

I love the concept of this hotel - being right next to Departures at Gatwick's South Terminal, it is an absolutely perfect location for early flights, or flights arriving back late. It is also close to Gatwick train station, and the shuttle to the North Terminal. The rooms are basic, but they are enough for one night stays, and I have to say the beds are extremely comfortable, the rain shower is lovely, and the room was quiet. Be aware that the bathrooms are wet rooms, so will get very wet. I went for the cheapest room option with no windows, and they are quite dark rooms, which is not helped by the dark brown decor. Next time I may go for a room with a window overlooking the planes, which I think I would really love. But there will be a next time, as the location and idea of this hotel is so convenient. Staying at the hotel also gives you discounts at a selection of the nearby Gatwick restaurants, and I had a lovely breakfast at 'Giraffe', with a 20 per cent discount.

Good experience but a technological overload

Loved this hotel, however, after coming off a reasonable flight time we found it a bit much to sign in to an app with your phone, turn lights on and off with your phone and the tv- we could not get that to switch on. Would stay again as in a great location, near other restaurants and right across from the train terminal.

Perfect airport hotel

Perfect for a one night stay at Gatwick. Flight arrived at midnight. Bloc had sent me a WhatsApp with my room number and ability to unlock the room from my phone. Room was small but perfectly arranged so it was cosy with all needs catered for. Easy to get temperature perfect. Bed was comfy. Shower pressure was great in wet room and good coffee. Would happily stay again.

Good choice for layover

Was easy to find within LGW Airport there’s a couple restaurants nearby that weren’t particularly expensive and they give discounts to those staying in Bloc, I was given a room with a view of the runway which was nice, the bed was comfy had no problems settling and something cool was you can control the lights via a link through your phone talk about a modern style airport hotel thanks for a great stay did I mention unlimited coffee and other hot drinks via machine on the 7th floor?

Disappointing

Hotel very scruffy, general dirt and uncleanliness in reception area and rooms. The decorating was very rough around the edges. Room was noisy from traffic (I can let this one go since I knew it was by a main road). My key didn’t work once and I kept having to go down to be let in by a master key rather than them sorting out the issue. Some of the staff seemed annoyed by this like it was my fault. Breakfast reminded me of a low cost hostel and was in a tiny, cramped and uncomfortable room but you could make your own waffles. Shuttle to the airport was over 45 mins late. Not a great experience but only really stayed there to be close to airport and Miami Springs was nice. Along with a nearby sports bar that had a good atmosphere and American experience.

Nice little room at Gatwick south terminal, good if you are catching an early flight, but the the rooms are small, so can be tight if you have a lot of luggage.

First time staying at a hotel inside an airport terminal. It was so convenient, as I literally only needed to take a lift downstairs the next morning and I was able to check out by simply dropping the room key inside a box. The room had fairly good soundproofing and I slept well. It was also very clean and the bed comfortable. Would happily return!
