We recently stayed at Hotel Halifax and overall had a very good experience, especially considering the major renovations currently underway. After booking through Expedia, we received a message informing us that several amenities—including the pool, gym, and restaurant—were temporarily unavailable due to ongoing construction. We would have appreciated knowing this before booking, as we had planned to use the pool and gym. In the end, it wasn’t a deal breaker since our stay was short, but it’s something future guests may want to be aware of. On the positive side, we were placed in a newly renovated room, and it was beautiful. The redesign is modern, clean, and very comfortable. The mattress, in particular, was excellent. During our first night, heavy rain caused water to leak from the exterior wall, which unfortunately flooded part of the room. Although this was unexpected, the staff handled the situation quickly and professionally—they immediately moved us to another newly renovated room, which was perfect. Despite the incident and the temporary closure of some amenities, we genuinely appreciated the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the renovated rooms. We can see the potential of the new Hotel Halifax, and once the renovations are fully completed, we expect it will be an excellent place to stay. We would definitely consider staying again in the future and look forward to returning once the upgrades are finished.

The hotel is under construction, which we were made aware of, being assured that the guest floors were complete and ready. Not the case. The rooms were completed, however the hallways were under complete construction during the day hours. Also, the hotel needs to seriously reconsider the design of the bathrooms. The door is a barn style sliding system that allows zero privacy, and is it is possible to see into and out of the bathroom through the gap between the door and the wall when the door is closed due to mirror placement. Perhaps an actual door would be preferable, the barn door system is also very clunky and loud, impossible to quietly close. Overall a disappointing visit, perhaps await accepting visitors until construction work is fully completed.

I understand the hotel is under renovations but I got no sleep during the night due to the noise in the hallway and the noise of the AC in my room. My reservation couldn't be found when I was checking in and my parking validation was expired when I was leaving. I feel hotel's.com should make this right

Even though the property is under renovation, I had everything I needed. Staff were amazing as usual and the new room design is great with two possible oversights (I’m not sure if the room design is finished). There is a lamp that blocks part of the tv you’re laying on the bed, that there are no more microwaves (or I couldn’t find it). The other oddity was that the hotel wouldn’t price match the rate I found on Expedia so I couldn’t get my BonVoy points. I even spoke to someone at front desk when I called. I’ll be back for sure, hopefully booking directly.

With the construction it was noisy from time to time, our room was freshly remodeled so it still smelled of construction and the temperature was stuck at 85. Someone came up right away to fix the temperature. It was clean and we didn’t have any other trouble.outside there is currently no sign to tell you that you were at the right place.
