Amazing staff, great location and good sized studio with comfy beds. Only negative is that for the price of the hotel I would expect my room to have furniture that is not worn out or all scratched up. Overall it was a great experience. Definitely recommend.

The hotel room was too hot and the air conditioning was too loud. Staff told us that the thermostat was not controllable, and that one central heat exchanger circulated the entire building. They did attempt to move us to a different room but there was no improvement to the air quality. We did not sleep well the first night. We tried opening the windows but they wouldn’t open whatsoever. After some back and forth, they allowed us to cancel our second night stay and also credited our parking for the first night. The swimming pool and hot tub were also filthy looking. The water was murky and when we asked the cleaning staff if they cleaned it, they smirked and told us that the pool and hot tub were both cleaned once a week. We were very disappointed with this experience!

Everything here was fantastic. This was our first time traveling with our baby, and the staff was so helpful. Even before we arrived, we had questions about crib sheets and parking, and they gave us all the information we needed. They were always there to answer questions, and very friendly. If we come back to Halifax, we'll stay here again.

I will start with I was delighted to find a hotel in the downtown Halifax area with rooms big enough to fit our family of 6! It’s not an easy find & I would be very happy to visit the Hollis again anytime. The Hollis is a beautiful hotel filled with friendly and helpful staff. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a quick and easy check in or check out. While there is very limited parking available when checking in the valet service was very easy and efficient. Our room was bright and spacious and the pool was clean with lots towels and seating. I loved that the pool also had showers and a bathroom right in the room which made it much easier for my kids to take a potty break when needed. My only complaint would be that the pull out sofa was in a bit of rough shape with a few of the springs used to hold the mattress up, missing.

The hotel staff were very pleasant. On Arrival i was told we were upgraded- we were surprised and happy. Considering this was a night for me and my partner to celebrate our anniversary it was a great start. Before booking I reached out to the Hotel and inquired about the pool and Hot tub, If they were open and if they were functioning. The answer was yes to both. To our surprise the Hot tub wasn't functioning and the water was dirty. The pool was ok but lacked a bit of maintenance. In the room the washroom fan was non existent and didn't work, and there wasn't enough towels. i don't understand how this would be considered to be an upgrade? I don't know why we weren't given the correct info. It might seem childish but we chose to pay extra for this location provided the amenities that where there and that was a surprise factor for my wife. We left very disappointed, i was more than her because i made the plans. For the price they are charging in my opinion it didn't live up to its expectations.

The Hollis is in a perfect location. It is close to the waterfront, museums, good restaurants and grocery store. We booked a studio suite with a king-sized bed and were very pleased to find out at checking in that we were given a double queen bed studio suite. The room is excellent and the daily cleaning is superb. We only had a minor issue with the shower button but nothing serious. I still would highly recommend this place. Thanks.
