I went to Pala and reserved the room I did because it had a soaking tub and I wanted to relax. I arrived very late - about 1:30 am, but was ok with paying as much as I did cause I wanted the tub. I asked about a late check-out, and agreed to pay $37 for 1 hour. I asked if the $37 would credit toward another night if I booked a 2nd night but was told I’d have to go through Expedia for that and left it at that. Well - the tub turned out to be a cold dip instead of a hot soak like I was looking forward to. Warm water came out for about 5 seconds before it turned cold. I tried everything, nothing worked. The shower had plenty of hot water strangely, so I guess they tweak things to discourage use of the soaking tub?!? Maybe tell people they shouldn’t expect anything close to warm for their bath water then. Then I get woken up by the phone ringing very loudly in the room. Since it’s across the room and I don’t wanna get out of bed (it’s not even 9am yet, and I got in very late), I try to soundproof my head…and then it rings again. And then my cell phone starts ringing…it was the front desk calling to ask if I want to stay another night (for $180). I was already not happy that I didn’t get to take a bath (the whole reason I selected that room and paid more than I would have otherwise), and now they were waking me up when they could see I asked for a late check-out. Only giving it a couple stars cause it was clean - but EVERYTHING else sucked. Went for relaxation, and left stressed.

Our one night getaway was perfect! We lounged poolside before checking in to our room. The pool was quiet and relaxing. Our server was attentive, the food and drinks were great. Our room was very clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!

The room is large and comfortable. It’s well appointed and very clean. The bathroom and shower facilities in the room are excellent. It is part of a casino so we do have the smoke and what not from the casino floor, though it doesn’t go up to the rooms. The staff is very friendly, exceptionally helpful.

We booked this hotel as we are coming into town due to a death in the family. You have to really want to go there as it’s off a windy road not close to the freeway. We had booked here specifically due to the gaming however, if you’re not a local that they recognize on a comp, then you’re really irrelevant to them. We had an issue with the front desk and housekeeping, not being as advertised. When I went to the front desk to try and address this, I was told that a supervisor was not available. However, earlier in the day I had spoken to one, so I knew that she was the woman standing next to the clerk on the phone. Ultimately it got resolved but the lack of care and professionalism by the front desk stood out. If you are on the fence about booking via Expedia, I will let you know that their rates will be hundreds of dollars cheaper for whatever reason then if you call the hotel directly, this makes absolutely no sense since they pay Expedia a commission, but whatever. We did have a good meal and an excellent waiter however, again if you’re not in on a comp, then you’re just pretty much irrelevant. It is definitely a local casino hotel.
