The shower was extremely small, you couldn’t stand in it without touching the walls or the shower curtain. It was a shower-over-bath setup, and the bath itself was smaller than standard and not even wide enough for an adult’s feet to stand comfortably in. The room felt rough and poorly maintained, with chipped paint and marks all over the walls. The towels had random blonde hairs on them, and the duvet had a visible stain. The hallway leading to the room was so narrow you couldn’t walk down it while carrying a bag beside you. During our stay the TV stopped working, and the milk supplied was left out on the desk instead of being refrigerated, which was particularly concerning as we stayed during a heatwave. Overall, the room was far smaller than it appeared in the photos. Unless you are very small in stature, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Photos are definitely misleading.

For the price of the room i was disappointed. Paid more for a lake view room which mainly looked over outdoor bar and into area. Very noisey from bar music turns off at 9.30pm and carpark.

We had a back unit which was very clean, quiet with comfortable bed. Enjoyed soaking in the bath after a long day and beach across the road so a couple of minutes walk. Parking was limited and we had to park in the street. No AC was an unpleasant surprise as room hot in afternoon when we arrived (and something I will check in future) so we opted to leave the window open, fan on and stuff in car while we went out.

Booked s budget double, wax told on arrival that he as bunk beds. Sorted that out, given a queen double room, only to find it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous occupants two days earlier. Second new room was ok though, but s frustrating start.

Very small room with bathroom but fine for a one night stopover on way to Auckland with a late afternoon arrival. Was walking distance to Taupo for food (there was a restaurant but as a solo traveller don’t usually use restaurants on my own)

Biggest pain was the bathroom door didnt close properly left a 100mm gap. Otherwise good sized room, and the service and meal at the restaurant was excellent..the views from the restaurant are superb. Service desk was at least half an hour late unlocking doors to the stairs, not the best.

On our second visit we asked at the desk when we checked in and apparently there was one upstairs but there was no one we could ask at the desk on the previous stay and there was no written directions at reception. I let them know I have a disability, and while I was given a downstairs room, it was a long way from the front door, and down a long hallway, right next to the laundry. There was no one to help carry bags, etc. The food was OK. The same fried food I would have had at home, but not done as nicely. The bed was had and there was no chair or other place to sit in the room. The view was a plastic pipe in a dirt garden! No lake in sight.
