Hotel is a good stay if you are a backpacker or group of friends. Not ideal for family as is super loud and tends to have partiers staying! Good walkable distance to town and convenient. Right on lake front

Really nice place. the refurbished "superior" rooms are much nicer than the old dated ones. the pine clad rooms and african themed hallways have definately had thier day, but they new rooms in lighter colours much more modern and spacious feeling. on site bar and restaurant were surprisingly good too, had a really nice meal here. Just dont expect breakfast. unfortunately the advertised breakfast restaurant is only open on weekends, so we were dissapointed we couldnt eat here on a thursday morning (this is not advertised anywhere. or even mentioned in in-room breakfast menu). if it wasnt for that would have given 5 stars. really enjoyed the hot spa pool in the evening after coming back from cycling that day

It was nice and clean . Staff could of gone a bit further and been more welcoming. You hear a lot of noise from other people, you could hear alot of footsteps, using the bathroom, coughing etc. Not that people were noisy you just heard alot of noise through the walls. So if your going in a lovey sexy weekend, it might not be the place for you,or maybe it is.

We were greeted by Clare and Lion at reception. Lovely, friendly and helpful. Our room was very small but clean. Bed was comfy and it was very quiet. We only stayed one night and it was perfect for our purposes passing through Taupō. I am sure there are bigger rooms available. The view from the front of the hotel is beautiful and the lake is magnificent.

The location was central, first room was good upstairs, second stay the room was smaller with one window and it had a bush outside the window and I think the sandflies were coming into the room at night. Too hot to close the window as we only had a fan.

This was such a good find. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It was very small, but that wasn’t an issue as I was travelling by myself. The staff I spoke to were all very friendly and accommodating. The bar/restaurant on site is also very good. The only drawback was that it was very very hot in the room and despite having the fan on and the window open all night, I was too hot.
