Our family of four with elementary age kids love this place, it has a unique feel, the kids love the scavenger hunt and areas to hangout and play games, parents like the little restaurant and bar that is onsite, and we love that it is so close to the zoo.

This is a one of a kind place. Breakfast is outstanding! Beds are extremely comfortable! Extremely accommodating for pets! Since it is an older hotel, the walls are pretty thin. Parking is frustrating with a truck. If the restaurant is open next store, good luck finding a spot for the hotel.

The property is old and in need of updates, if even possible. The front desk did allow me to check in early, which was much appreciated. I struggle to see how it's a **** hotel. I had a nice view out my windows of an alley. I was born and reared in St. Louis; racial strife comtinues to dominate. I ended my stay at this hotel sadder over what I remember of St. Louis, than the reason I came to town, which wad for a beloved family member's funeral.

The staff were very attentive. The property was charming, but definitely had some deferred maintenance, there was a broken window pane in our room that was fixed with tape and still had a piece missing. There is a lot of nick nackery that could use a good dusting. Breakfast was decent - not a full English breakfast though. The room was large, the bathroom was nice but very small. Safe area. Really walkable and close to Forest Park and all kinds of food.

I like this place for the nostalgia, was there 30 years ago for an after wedding party at Fox & Hounds & it was so fun. Went back about 3 years ago & was fine. However, the hotel has gone downhill. Room was missing hand soap, no batteries in tv remote, room phone was dead & sticky. Pillows are 1/2 size. Only good point was check in with Roxie, she’s very sweet & accommodating. Free breakfast is decent. Had dinner next door at Basso, pretty good.
