"Great hotel close to restaurants and public transp"
We stay here each time we are in Melbourne without our caravan, that says it all. The staff are always very welcoming, the hotel facilities are all that we require and there is ready access to a wide range of excellent eateries within a short walk. For those after a bit excitement Lunar Park is close by, otherwise St Kilda Beach is just a bit further, plenty of space for quiet reflection or a swim in the warmer weather or you have the choice of the indoor baths for the colder days. A selection of eateries, coffee or a glass of something nice are at hand. The bonus of free secure car parking at the hotel is a welcome addition.

"Convenient, noisy and the roomspecial are small"
The rooms are modern and clean. Air con or heater is a bit touch and go, we couldn't get it quite right during our stay. We stayed in the 65 Acland St priperty which is down thw other end from 5 Acland so location on Wotif isnt quite right. I thinkk they have a few buildings but only one address on Wotif. When booking stay away from the street frontage rooms as they were noisy. We had a problem in our room with massive hammer pipe noises fron the room above (I think), got room changed to one at the back after speaking to the manager, staff that I reported the problem to was hopeless but Tha kfully escalation got the result we were after. Location is great, 1 minute walk to the tram and lots of shops etc around. The right price too I think we paid about $70 per night for 3 nights which was pretty good. Would stay there again but would ask for rooms off the street due tk noise. There were some dick heads on our last night making noise very late but that can be expected when staying in a partying part of town I guess.

"Quiet Area in St Kilda"
The cleaning staff need to take more care. There was mould on the inside of the shower door. The crockery in the cupboard was dirty. The glasses were covered in finger marks and the cups had coffee/tea rings in them. Also, some maintenance required. The blind was broken so we had to climb on a chair every time we wanted to put it up or down and roll it by hand. There was no fly screen on the main window but there was on the bathroom window. There is mould on the bathroom wall up high. Sugar Soap would remove it. The light in the kitchen area didn't work. I would assume just a blown globe. Nothing was major....all just laziness by staff to do their job correctly.
