We had one of the 2 bedroom cottages. The space was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable.! Plenty of pillows. We could park right in front of our room. We used the pool which was clean and had an outdoor changing room. We were able to have our dogs there. There was a dog park off the property, but nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a good little stop for my hubby, daughter, son and I. It’s right off the main road but there’s a Walmart nearby if anything is needed. The pool and hot tub were nice. The room was a good size for four people. The only issue was the AC splitter unit could not keep the room cool. We all didn’t sleep very well due to it being so warm. We tried the turbo setting the front desk recommended when asked but didn’t make much difference. The best part was being next door to the Salida River Adventure company. Very handy to leave our car and personal things in the room and walk next door for our whitewater rafting trip which was our main event for our vacation. Overall not bad for a roadside family spot.

Salida Inn and Monarch Suites- was half the price of other low to medium motels in the area, including Buena Vista and Leadville as well as Salida. So I expected it to be not so great- but we were pleasantly surprised. I cannot speak for the "Monarch Suites"- they did not look too impressive from the outside- like mini cabins in the parking lot. But we stayed in a regular room at the Inn and it was very nice in every way- clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious, good location, very friendly staff.

We booked this place FOR the hot tub and the pool. So we got there, I checked and I felt like I was disturbing the person at the front desk and she kind gave me attitude. But we got our room and we got ready for hot tub and pool. The hot tub had a wasps nest by it so I could not enjoy that. So we went to the pool, swam for a bit and then noticed a dead squirrel at the bottom of the pool. We immediately got out and showered up. I went to the front desk with some trepidation since I was not treated well at check in and told her about the issues. She blankly looked at me and said she will put it on the maintenance list. And that was that, not even an apology or show ofnconcern. I checked the next morning, squirrel was gone but I doubt the pool was shocked or re-chlorinated and the hornets were never dealt with. So, we could not use the amenities we booked it for. Would really like some sort of compensation but given the attitude I got from the beginning , I doubt I will

It was a quant place to stay. The pictures they show are of the few cute units in the back. Most of the units are set up in motel fashion, all next to each other in the same building. There was a good grassy area to take the dog to. The unit was clean and tidy. But the windows are older with the screens decaying some. Our windows faced the street which was pretty noisy because it's the main street through town. I'm not used to staying at smaller business motel. But it was well ran. The only complaint I have is that there's was not fresh food for the breakfast, meaning, nothing is cooked that morning. No eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, or pancakes. There were plain bagels, raisin bread, packaged muffins, individual boxes of cereal, yogurt and packaged boiled eggs in the fridge. No fruit either.

Great stay.

No issues with this stay. The beds were comfortable. The fold out couch felt like a fold out couch. As to be expected. The pillows a little hard. The hot tub very chlorinated and the pool was warm. Felt great at night. The breakfast offered was small but got the job done. The staff exceptionally friendly. Overall we felt safe and would stay here again. (Also right next door to our rafting company that was also excellent. )
