The room was quiet and comfortable. The location is about 1.5 miles from downtown Salida, which is accessible on foot or easily by car. Breakfast was adequate.

Loyal Duke Lodge was great! Conveniently located on the edge of Salida. It was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Morning coffee drinkers - make sure to ask for a single serve coffee maker when you check in. You could hear noise such as people moving around or televisions on. It was nothing crazy, but for light sleepers it might affect your sleep a bit. Overall, I would definitely stay there again. The few things I noted are not enough to keep me from me coming back.

We were moved to Salida Inn because there was nothing available at loyal duke where our reservation was. This review is not for loyal duke, It is for Salida Inn. both our front and back door to our room was open when we arrived and there were leaves everywhere. We also noticed a huge clump of hair on the shower wall. The room itself was a nice size and nice that it was pet friendly. when you ran the air it had an awful smell. The hot tub was nice and the fact we had a back patio was also.

Approach with caution

We anticipated a motor court style stay, but the photos were a bit misleading and the cleanliness of the hotel left a tremendous amount to be desired & shower was very small with little pressure, and ac didn’t work. Breakfast was definitely continental (bagels, packaged muffins, juice and milk, yogurt and boiled eggs (not always on ice). Finding someone to speak with someone to ask questions was impossible (requested texting only). Would not stay again.

The bed was uncomfortable although the bed linens were nice. The shower head was set so that water went on the floor. It was too high and you could not turn it. The fan vent had a loud and annoying chirping sound and the HVAC was terribly noisy and irritating.
