A true North Shore getaway, Gull Rock Ridge sits 200 feet above Lake Superior's shore on 22 private acres. Expansive interior windows frame the vista, and spacious outdoor decks on both the main and upper level provide perfect lake viewing, wildlife watching, sunning, and star gazing.

Outdoor activities await with three of Minnesota’s “Top Five” State Parks located within 10 minutes of Gull Rock Ridge, including Split Rock Lighthouse, only one mile away. Bike or stroll along the Gitchi-Gami State Trail or hike the Superior Hiking Trail; all are easily accessible from the property.

Gull Rock Ridge has three bedrooms; a king size bed and a pull-out queen bed in the owner's suite (with attached bathroom) on the upper level, and two bedrooms on the main level, each with a queen bed. There is a shared main-floor bathroom. The property sleeps 8 guests.

As part of an open floor plan, the kitchen is a chef's dream, with honed-granite countertops, top-of-the-line appliances and lake views. Dine in the kitchen, with seating for 4 around the peninsula, or enjoy 180-degree panoramic views of Lake Superior from the eight-person dining table. The main floor family room centers around a gas-burning stone fireplace with views all around. Multiple decks, including a seating area for eight, with a gas grill overlooks the ever-changing, enigmatic lake.

This year round home is equipped with high-speed WI-FI, a flat screen TV, a DVD player, board games and puzzles.

This home is a modern style house. Surfaces include Indian Slate floors in the kitchen, great room, hallways and bathrooms; granite countertops in kitchen and bathroom; hard-wood floors in bedrooms; and carpeted staircase to master bedroom and bath. Furniture includes leather sofas, hard wood dining chairs and counter stools.

This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful north shore! The sunrise views are spectacular and overall, you can expect a 5 star experience! The house is very clean, well maintained and well stocked. Nancy was very responsive and communicated everything needed to make our stay perfect! She also provided many excellent recommendations for restaurants, hiking and things to do! We hope to come back again!

As we walked into the cabin for the first time, all we could say was "Wow, this is awesome!" The view was spectacular throughout the cabin. The cabin was well stocked with just about anything you could possibly need. Just beautiful! The beds were very comfortable. The decks were set up so nicely for viewing the lake as well as star gazing.

This house is wonderful! The views are stunning and the location is perfect for trips to fabulous state parks: Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettegouche, and Temperance River Gorge. The kitchen is huge and lovely, and everything was very clean. We appreciated the 11:00 am check-out. Nancy was the most helpful and communicative VRBO host we’ve ever had, and we’ve stayed in a lot of VRBO places over the years. Highly recommed!

Stunning View!

We came to northern Minnesota for a family vacation, during peak season to see the changing of the leaves. My husband, our four children, and my sister with her husband, stayed a total of 5 nights. We were able to see northern lights during our stay and that was absolutely gorgeous as well. The driveway for us was not necessarily hard but I would advise other guests just to turn your traction control off. We had a Kia van and did it no problem. My sister and her husband had a four wheel drive Jeep and they definitely did not have issues. As long as you do the drive as recommended you should not have a problem! The view from the house was stunning and I will highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We could not have asked for better weather during our stay the beginning of October.

This was our second stay in this house. Everything was perfect again! Plenty of space and decks with great views of Lake Superior. Near state parks and hiking. I've recommended to several friends planning vacations to the North Shore. Great communication with the owners too.

Everything regarding this property was perfect. The view from the house and decks were gorgeous. An open floor plan made it nice for our family of 7. What a view!!!!

This is a quite retreat for anyone looking to get away from the hustle of life. Beautiful view of Lake Superior, no neighbors, woodsy, clean, and well stocked. It is close to the Splitrock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls, which we enjoyed very much. After a cold hike, warming up with the fireplace and coffee was just the ticket. I would recommend this place if you really want to relax.

Perfect Home Base for Our Special Weekend

My new husband and I and a few of our friends rented this place for our Wedding weekend on the gorgeous Minnesota North Shore. Let me just say the house and the views were absolutely breathtaking! It's very cozy and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The kitchen was great for cooking our own meals. The deck perfect for star gazing. We even saw the northern lights one night! It's conveniently located close to a number of great sightseeing locations and was honestly the perfect home base for us. We are happy to be home after a long weekend away but we definitely miss the lake views and the beautiful sunrises. I have no doubts we'll be back and will look to book Gull Rock Ridge on our next trip as well.

Labor Day Weekend

The house is beautiful. When we arrived, the house was very hot inside. We opened windows and used fans, which helped, but we had a couple elderly family members which didn’t do well with the house temperature and we all could have used air conditioning. There are mice digging under the flashing house at the edge of the main deck - the pole nearest the patio door. They have created quite a mess of chewed debris piled by the pole. The mice scamper across the deck mostly in the evening but we saw them during the daylight as well. The upstairs toilet seemed to be leaking from the back causing some standing water behind the toilet. We appreciated the lengthy and detailed communication before our arrival on directions and other information. That was very helpful.
