The hotel is close to everything but they charge a lot for what the hotel offers. The rooms are bare bones. There was a faint sewage smell in the bathroom. The lounge offers a very small menu with food that is just alright. The drinks are awful. It was okay for what we needed it for. We will not be coming back.

You could not go on the patio because it did not open. It looked like the screen was broken. The windows were single panel so I could every car going by ALL night. It sounded like they were racing outside. I asked if I could get extra blankets. They did not arrive for 1.5 hours. I would NOT stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay at Vinland Hotel and Lounge. We stayed in a double queen room, and it was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfy, and the balcony was a great bonus—perfect for relaxing. The bathroom was nice and updated, which I always appreciate. The bar had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is excellent—easy to walk around and explore the area without needing to drive. Parking was also easy and convenient, which made everything stress-free. One small note: I wasn’t a fan of the pillows, so I’d recommend bringing your own if you’re picky about that. Overall, a great stay, and I’d happily return.

Multiple outlets in the room did not work, one of which destroyed an electronic we plugged in to it. The AC did not work. The fan in the bathroom did not work. The shower was clogged completely. Refrigerator didn’t shut all the way so nothing put in was actually kept cool. A mirror fixture in the room was damaged, dangling from the ceiling crooked by a single screw as the other 2 that were supposed to be there were missing. Our keycards stopped working 11 times over our 3 day stay as well, which is very frustrating on its own as to even access the hallways you need keycard access. One of the main hallways keycard scanner was broken anyway so a keycard wasn’t needed to access a section of the second floor. Meaning anybody on the street has direct access to the room doors there. The hot tub was so over chlorinated that a staff member who noticed turned off the jets to the hot tub for at minimum the duration of our stay. I let the front desk staff know on the first night of the issues and they said they’d take care of it. Nothing was taken care of and when I mentioned the problems again during checkout a different front desk person took very good, detailed notes that were not taken the first time.

The staff were wonderful and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The room was great, and I really appreciated how welcoming the property was to my cat! We didn’t encounter a single problem and had a great experience overall.

Staff was super friendly. Location is at the edge of town - easily walkable to restaurants and shops. Walls are a little thin like most hotels. We didn't get to try the lounge but it looked really nice.

There was no breakfast of any kind available. Apparently, this is the case for most hotels. Being a visitor in Solvang means you eat 3 meals out every day, and it adds up quickly. The room was clean, but I had to ask for clean towels every day. Housekeeping is only available once every 3 days, and the front desk needs a phone call to make that happen. The "city view" room looked over a residential street and into the backyard that had junky cars and a couple of dogs. Still, the room was quiet, and the hotel gets lots of points for that. The hotel's location is 3 miles from highway 101, and at the start of the main drag on Mission Street. We got used to doing a lot of walking and even got to enjoy it very much. Our room was large, but you'd never be able to call it pretty. It's lighting is weird, but kudos for the room temperature being easily controlled and working well. The room served the purpose, and for all that it was, I recommend the hotel. The pool and whirlpool are outside, and it was a cool day so we didn't use it. But we saw some kids enjoying it. Shops and restaurants close early in Solvang, and they open late, too. Nearby breakfast restaurants had extremely long lines. Bakeries are available and less crowded. We loved walking up to the California mission (Santa Ines) and taking its tour for $5. Very tranquil and pretty. We like Solvang, but it needs only 2 or 3 nights at most.

Came during a busy weekend, got there right at check in time and was told that our room wouldn’t be ready for a while. When I inquired how long or what the holdup was I was told that they were busy and my room was in line to be cleaned. I paid almost $800 for 2 nights…this was not what I was trying to hear at all after a 4 hour drive.
