This is an older property. Overall nice facility and friendly staff but the plumbing noise woke us up throughout the night and we had to change rooms. New room was better, but still heard the plumbing and the elevator. The Lido bar ha really good food and Kiran the bartender was the best. Staff at Costa (especially Danny) were great.

I would like to say that the staff and maids were fantastic. I’ll make it simple and to the point. We were there for 2 nights. As soon as we got into our room there was a smell of must, a wet sitting smell. I could not pinpoint it but perhaps the filters on the mini split system need to be cleaned. We did suffer some allergies while there. The mini split unit was very loud and has a sound like running water while it’s on. The fan does not adjust much or if at all. The next thing was I spent about 30 minutes trying to kill mosquitoes that were all over the room. I swatted them till they were all gone. My wife received 2 bites during our stay. The toilet occasionally does not flush all the way unless you hold the handle down manually. There was no screen on our patio door as there was one on the neighboring room but not the other. I reserved this room because it has a patio, and we had no choice but to keep the door closed due to the chance of allowing more mosquitos in. I paid extra to have the ocean view and be able to have the ocean breeze come in and this was not possible. Our first night our dinner was over an hour late and the French Fries were soggy. We did not eat most of the dinner due that fact. Every meal ordered after that was fantastic. You advertise no room delivery due to protection of the privacy of the guests . How ever in my opinion there is not much privacy. The exit doors were open all night. You can hear all neighbors above you.

Location is amazing and we had lovely huge patio areas looking at the beach. We spent the evening in their courtyard with a fire pit and drank wine and chilled. Some ordered a few items from the restaurant and it was delicious. The coffee at the cafe was really good too!

The rooms are little outdated but overall, very clean and beds were comfortable. My luggage was not properly stowed while waiting for my room. It sat at the front entrance of the hotel in the parking area the whole day. I had my laptop and other personal items sitting right there in front of all the guests coming and going. Many guests seemed to be upset that their rooms were not ready in time. My room was also a bit delayed. One bright spot were the valet attendees Tracy and Alexander. They were so helpful and kind!

I was not placed in the beach scenery.. I requested an extra bed or sofa bed so the customer rep kindly enough to given me two queen bed, but he gave us a disability room for deaf people. It was ok . I told the receptionist that’s it’s my birthday and he just greeted without a smile. This place was ok .. I called letting them know that’s its traffic …

Pretty average property at best. They do a good job with their photos making it look like it's actually on the beach, and that their pool is anything more than a Holiday Inn pool. It’s actually across the street from the beach. Lots of small disappointments through out. The AC was broken in the gym. All three Peloton bikes were broken in some fashion. I tried to order room service, but the phone didn't work in our room. I called the front desk, and as no one picked up, I left a message where they said they would call me back, and nobody ever did. They don't start coffee service until 7:00 a.m., and by that time, there's a line of people waiting for them to bring it out. Lots of little things with not that much impressiveness.

Hotel manager, Dennise was above and beyond while our stay at this property. She was extremely friendly and super super sweet to make sure that we had an amazing experience. Even the food was exceptionally good at their restaurant. The room conditions could be better, but I’m definitely coming back for another. Stay soon at this hotel just because of her.

Not the experience I expected for a deluxe stay

I stayed in a King Deluxe room with an ocean view overlooking the pool. Unfortunately, several issues impacted my experience. The blinds in the room did not work, preventing me from fully enjoying the view. The hair dryer was broken, and despite calling the front desk, no replacement was provided. I also requested a late checkout, but it was not documented, which led to housekeeping repeatedly knocking and intruding during my work calls. These service lapses were disappointing and fell short of expectations for this level of accommodation.

Thoroughly enjoyed a nice September weekend at Mar Monte. The staff were wonderful: friendly & helpful. I'm from out of State, and found the fresh produce in the restaurants to be outstanding, along with good service. The room was comfortable - firm mattress, with a soft pillow-top, soft pillow, good temperature. They do have a primitive cooling system, which is rather loud. Bathroom & shower were clean & good. The hotel is right across the street from a clean and well maintained beach - safe for walking any time of day. I'd happily stay here again next visit.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Mar Monte in Santa Barbara. It's a beautiful resort but the service is what makes it. The Air Conditioning in my room was not working. Grant at the front desk sent over a maintenance technician immediately. As the issue could not be fixed, Grant apologized as it would be a downgrade but offered me a different room. We accepted and were so comfortable for the rest of our stay. Later that day
