Outside, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. Rooms need work. Smelled musty and sweaty, carpet stains, bedding seemed thin and not cleaned properly. Bathroom was okay except water smell kinda scary, even for brushing your teeth. Found out they provide filtered water near the front desk in a dispenser, but…..? Really? Who wants to go walk down there and fill up a cup? Staff were nice at check in and out. Price was right, considering everywhere else, but lost money on one of three rooms when family member couldn’t make it last minute and it was the non-refundable rate. Lesson learned. Courtyard is beautiful and reviews on the restaurant seem good even though we didn’t use it. Town is a few blocks away if you want to walk, although there’s always plenty of parking to drive there too.

Celebrated a 16th birthday and it was an amazing s

We were not disappointed at all here. The service was excellent, the rooms were beautiful and the courtyard was an added bonus. We enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi wa our favorite. It was less than a mile from the beach, a good donut shop, starbucks and other small shops. We will definitely be back.

Nice hotel with free parking and coffee is available. There is a on site restaurant that we didn’t try. Not within walking distance of much…but close to the nice downtown.

Near very loud freeway, AC unit did not work and it loudly clicked on and off every few minutes all night long. Room was warm and musty, felt damp and humid. Do not stay on the bottom floor the floors above creak and upstairs guests will keep you up all night. Fridge did not work. Shower leaked all over the floor and under the door, which was rotten, into the entryway and into the closet. Mold in shower.

This property puts the Plus in Plus. It is truly resort like. The front desk is very amenable and personable; five star service from Mario. Mario better get a raise or he will be poached by Miramar or San Ysidro Ranch. He is impeccable and professional. The rooms are stellar. Premium bedding, fridge and TV w YouTube capabilities, and great lush gardens. Ask for a courtyard room to enjoy the romance. Bravo, Best Western. This is one of your best properties. Close to all the fun on Linden Ave. and easy to access freeway yet you feel removed and rested. My new favorite hotel in SB county. Just a delight. Off to enjoy the rest of my coffee on my courtyard balcony! -JR

I honestly don’t understand how this hotel has so many good reviews when everything about my stay was so disappointing. At check-in, the worker told us we had plenty of room options and promised to give us a “good room with a good view.” She asked us to wait until our reservation time. When she finally gave us the keys, she suddenly admitted she had made a mistake—our room didn’t actually have a private balcony, it had a shared one. This was never mentioned anywhere in the description. We were already frustrated, but decided to let it go. When we got to the room, we turned on the AC and it made a terrible, loud noise. We called the front desk immediately, and they sent a specialist who confirmed that the unit was defective and told us we should be moved to another room. We waited, but no one ever followed up. When we called again, the front desk told us there were no available rooms and, worse, that all their AC units make the same loud noise. We explained that it was impossible to sleep with that noise and asked them to do something—anything—to help us. Their response was basically, “There’s nothing we can do.” We even asked to cancel the reservation since the room was unlivable, but they said cancellation was not an option and that we had no choice but to stay. This hotel has terrible customer service, zero care for guests, and broken amenities. First they messed up our room, then stuck us with a noisy AC and refused to help.

Basic Comfort Above Average Cleanliness

Very clean hotel room and amazing staff. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable. The towels were rough but it was not enough to prevent me from recommending.

Termite droppings on the pillow

W3 had to leave because the bed was covered with termite droppings. The woman at the front desk was sympathetic but the hotel was sold out so there was nothing she could do. When we called the desk about our concern they knew the room so I’m sure the problem had been reporting before.
