Dated but cozy room, good facilities and the staff are really friendly. Hot tub and pool really clean. Breakfast was amazing, impressive considering it is free! Can see why this place has such good reviews.

Ed the manager was incredibly gracious, the room was really nice and clean. The free breakfast was more than expected. And there was always warm cookies. All in all it was a great experience except for I had a horrible night. I kept waking up cuz I couldn't breathe. I use a CPAP. The outlet in the wall was broken because the bed kept getting pushed up against the cord sticking straight out of the wall. That broke the grounding lug off of the plug and loosened up the connections on the plug so they were actually sparking. That was pretty dangerous, on top of me not being able to sleep. I talked to Ed in the morning and he said he was going to get someone to fix it. Anyhow I have to give him credit for understanding the problem. With a seriously it shouldn't have got that bad in the first place

Fantastic. Warmly greeted with fresh baked cookies. The room was spacious and very clean. Edward, at the front desk, gave me a quick tour. There is a pool, hot tub, and fire pit. They offer free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate until 10:00 pm. The free breakfast included the regular breakfast foods - cereals, toasts, yogurt, etc. but this breakfast included waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuits (very good) and gravy. The beds were very comfortable with 4 pillows each.

Unassuming, yet Quality hotel in San Simeon! (See what I did there?😆). Checkin was quick -front desk staff helpful (even mentioned the afternoon hot cookies and coffee/tea/hot chocolate setup they had available 7/24). Plenty of parking. Our room had a patio view of the sea. No elevators, so if you have mobility issues, you probably need to stick to the first floor. Lift available for pool. Classic ice machine and local attraction leaflets available near lobby. Room clean, bathroom decent. Blackout curtains, cable-subscribed TV, microwave and fridge both worked. Bed comfortable. Quiet. Oh, so wonderfully quiet (we were there mid-week in mid-October). Breakfast was great. Always eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and waffles to make. Toaster with muffins, bread, bagels - cream cheese in fridge. Decent assortment of yogurts, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit. And probably more that I overlooked or have forgotten! Pool area nice, 6-seater hot tub, medium-sized heated pool, seating around a fire pit. Convenient to Hearst Castle, easy drive to SLO, Cambria, Paso Robles. When we’re in the area again we would definitely stay here absolutely.

Breakfast menue was beloe par, disappointed. Room was clean but was not cleaned after we went out. We slept in unmade beds and old towels. Entry door had to be slammed to closed. Electrical plugs were hard to find and limited. I would not recommend it to my friends.

Thought the balcony view would have been of the ocean.. but it wasn’t. It’s like a little garden area. The breakfast was amazing. Biscuit and gravy, bacon and sausage, potato’s, and wonderful waffles

Coffee is made too weak. But the rest of breakfast is great. For an older property, the room was in good shape, clean and stocked. Bed was comfortable. Stayed 2 nights on a solo trip to Hearst Castle. Be aware there are 2 sections - the back section is 2 story with. O elevator, so if carrying suitcases is a challenge - say it before you book. I got lucky that the front desk could change my room when I checked in. Would return again.

This hotel is perfect if you are traveling to visit Hearst Castle or any surrounding areas. Plenty of parking. Comfortable, spacious rooms. The breakfast is superb! Would definitely recommend.
