Lovely, charming hotel with plenty of parking and a great breakfast buffet. Very clean and the staff were all terrific. I loved that you could walk to the beach and promenade. There were also walkable options for pintxos and dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

It's a nice hotel and the staff were always friendly when we interacted. It's a pleasant walk to get to La Concha and then from there into the old town. A few things made them miss the mark though: the "king" bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together with separate bedding, the safe in the room never worked (the maintenance couldn't fix it) & it took 3 different remote controls to finally get the TV to work. I just feel a lot of this should've been handled before we got there but, as I said, everyone we interacted with was great.

Nice stay, great city

Large hotel, 5 minutes from beach, 20 minutes from shopping, fabulous promenade in between. Big underground parking (€20 per day and electric charging bays). Big reception with bar and restaurant and outdoor seating. Rooms nice, balcony with table/chairs, comfy bed. Spacious bathroom with good power shower. Overall a nice stay in an absolutely fabulous city.

Fine hotel to enjoy San Sebastián at its best!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Barceló Costa Vasca. Everything was as one could expect from a high-end hotel chain. We did not get to try its restaurants, but we would anticipate that they were just fine. This facility was well situated in a quiet area, yet within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and the beach.

Bad design causes poor experience.

When we got access to the room, we quickly established that the stopper in the washhandbasin would not open leaving washwater in place. We let the reception know and it was quickly fixed. Staying two nights on the 6th floor we found other elements of the en-suite bathroom unsatisfactory. Lighting was poor. Shaving was difficult as the mirror was illuminated be a lighting strip on either side. The hand holding the razor got between the face and the light. Water splashed out of the washhandbasin when washing the face and dripped off the surface and onto the hand towels hanging on a rail in front of the basin. Two dispensers of soap and body lotion were located above the area where toiletries were located. Any drips would fall on the toiletries. A makeup mirror was loose in its connection to the wall. The toilet paper holder was very awkwardly placed when reaching for it. The whole roll needed to be moved to be used when required. Hot water took a very long time to get to the tap and out. This is the main reason for poor eco score. The worst feature was an overly complicated shower fixture which had a very narrow hard to find position between cold and too hot. the designer of this en-suite be required to stay in this room for a week along with their partner to experience the facility as a guest and for their partner to remind them forever how bad a job they did of the design. However the Executive who approved the design to be implemented should stay 2weeks.
