I always enjoy staying here, the friendliness of the staff is phenomenal. They get to know you and greet everyone weather checking in, leaving for the day, or returning from a day out. When in San Marcos in try to cone here, I say try because I have found them to be fully booked and that is a good thing! Keep up the excellence! Rich

I want to be fair, but Inwas disappointed. The hotel was clean and relatively modern and the staff was friendly. That however could not make up for the noise of the hotel. Even in the quieter room requested highway noise was present and we were unlucky enough to have children running above us and jumping up and down until very late at night. We were offered a room change but it is not easy to change rooms and things improved after talking to the front desk. The breakfast was chaotic and standard. The hotel was decent but we are an older couple and put a premium on quiet during our holiday visit. I expected better considering the price of the hotel compared to comparable properties!

Stay 12/25-12/26/2025. Room comfort & cleanliness is excellent. Very peaceful & quiet. Odd - no drinking glass in the bathroom but you can use the plastic cups by the coffeemaker. The bathroom sink backs up & drains slowly. It could use some Drano. The bed is extremely comfortable. Nice sitting area in the room with sofa sleeper & desks. However, the TV did not work in there & there was no remote control. The exterior of the property is very poorly maintained. Nice little arbor with a walkway, however, the vegetation is dead, overgrown, & there are little berries all over the sidewalk, making it very dangerous to walk. Complementary breakfast (served 6 AM to 9 AM), is a wonderful thing to offer your guests. Fine selection of foods, however, food would run out & not be replaced. (I was there at 7am.) Countertops/serving areas were dirty & messy. No staff around to wipe off those areas or the tables after use. Elevators - there are only 2 & 1 was out of service. The one that worked was an extremely rough ride & noisy. Compared to my stay at the SpringHill Suites in May of this year, where the SpringHill Suites is an “A” rating, this Fairfield Inn and Suites would be a “B.” Not quite up to Marriott standards.

I experienced an unacceptable level of disturbance throughout my stay, making rest impossible. The primary issue was the malfunctioning, motion-sensored air conditioner, which produced a helicopter-like roar each time it activated, also triggering the lights, which repeatedly startled me. This was compounded by constant background noise—cars on the street even in late night, foot traffic by the elevator, and the distinct sound of water running through the walls from 9-10:30 PM. I did not get a single minute of uninterrupted sleep.

Great location and convenient for food options, there's a Mexican Market across the street with great tacos! gas station and down the road there's more eateries. The hotel is clean, friendly staff and the woman in charge of the breakfast is very helpful and friendly! Great waffles! The only suggestion would be air freshners or odor eaters as the room may smell a bit musty (the carpet maybe). Overall, I would revisit. Thank you!!
