Cleaning and maintenance are not great.

The room was not very clean. I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous guest!!! In-room heater was broken. But once I got over those issues, it’s a comfortable, family-friendly place to spend a few days. The facilities are nice, bed, pillows, and bedding are comfortable.

Great service and location was convenient for golf. Pictures definitely look better than in person and no ac in the rooms. You must leave your balcony doors open all day or the room get super stuffy. We had a first floor room so that's not ideal. Would not return for the price tag.

Good value with the free breakfast

No major complaints. Clean room. Sliding door leading to the outdoor grass area, easy access for the dog to go out. Dog got a little gift bag on arrival too, nice touch. Only 1 trash can in the room was odd, in the bathroom (asked for another) and no microwave in the room, (they brought one).

Great lodge!

Great stay in Half Moon Bay - beautiful, peaceful lodge in a nice location - comfortable and charming. Enjoyed the pool, hot tub and yard games. Nice breakfast as well. Would stay again!

Overall we really liked our stay at the Half Moon Bay Lodge. It was clean and service was good. The view out of balcony was awesome. The only complain were the bed and pillow. They were quite old and not the most comfortable. The mattress was not firm and sacks, not great for someone with back issues.

We stayed one night at Half Moon Bay Lodge, and honestly, I’m just glad it was only one night. From the moment we arrived, the room felt dirty and neglected. The bathroom and bathtub were especially gross—definitely not cleaned thoroughly. The pillows on the bed smelled terrible, which made it hard to feel comfortable. We even found mosquito hawks in the room, which added to the unease. What really concerned us was the desk lamp that kept zapping while turned on. We were traveling with our young children, and this felt like a serious safety hazard. The final straw was when we pulled back the curtains and discovered a filthy pair of denim pants hidden behind them—it was disgusting and absolutely unacceptable. I brought my concerns to the front desk and explained how uncomfortable and gross the stay had made us feel. Unfortunately, the staff member simply said “thanks for your feedback” and didn’t offer any apology, compensation, or solution. The only redeeming part of the stay was the breakfast, it was okay, nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of other places to stay in the area—try literally anywhere else.

Absolutely pet friendly! We enjoyed our stay. Upon check-in, we were given a welcome bag for our dog, containing a treat, water bowl, and a toy. The unit was clean and comfortable. We had a patio door that opened into the yard, where we were able to have our little doggie walks. Fridge and complimentary water available in the room. Beds were comfortable. Overall, a pleasant and pleasurable stay. Thank you!

Wall were very thin so you can hear noise from all round including people walking above if you’re on a lower floor. Bathroom was dirty, hair from a previous hotel guest was stuck to the bathroom door, mold on bathroom shower window, towel smelled (not fresh). Continental breakfast was average. Paid way too much for 2 rooms due to a busy weekend. Not worth it.

Halfmoon Bay Lodge

Overall the stay was decent , however due to a lack of maintenance on the Lodge’s side we were locked out of our room for one hour. Our room was missing a hair dryer which we had to request, and our shower did not have body wash. Which we we had to get ourselves. While waiting to get our room door fixed they did not offer us or let us know about the amenities we could have used in the meantime.
