Don’t be put off by the building works — although unsightly on arrival, the noise was minimal and didn’t impact our stay at all. The hotel offers a great choice of pool areas with plenty of sunbeds, so there’s no need to get up early to reserve one. There’s also easy access to the sea for those who fancy a swim.
On the downside, we arrived just before 12pm and were told check-in wasn’t until 3pm, which was fine. However, when 3pm came, we were repeatedly told it would be “just two more minutes,” and we didn’t actually receive our key until 3:20pm. It was clear the room had been prepared in a rush, as the dressing gowns and hairdryer were missing. The gowns were replaced quickly, but the hairdryer turned into more of an ordeal — housekeeping even suggested I hadn’t looked properly, which was frustrating. Thankfully, a visit to concierge resolved the issue, and a special mention goes to Brian, who was fantastic.
The on-site restaurants — Don Royale (Italian) and Henry Beans (American-style burgers, ribs, steaks, etc.) — offered a great selection of food. Don Royale is very popular, so I’d recommend booking in advance. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel, with an excellent variety and high-quality food.
Despite a few minor issues, I would definitely stay here again.
