The room was clean and well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the valets and baggage clerks. One in particular was great to talk to about Hockey and even wrote his own book about the old Nordiques. Very nice and charming man with a lot of knowledge! The only thing we were unhappy about was the Hotel De Glace Dinner Experience. The trip includes a shuttle to/from the Fairmont Hotel to the HdG, a guided tour and dinner in the HdG. The price is $255CAN per person so it is very steep. Our problems are that we were already staying at the HdG and didn't need transportation or the tour since it was part of our HdG stay package already. We really just wanted dinner so there really should be a separate price for those that just want to eat dinner without all of the frills. They would probably sell more tickets if they did this. Also, when you buy the package, it tells you the reservation is for 5:30PM but that is not for dinner. That is for the departure from the Fairmont to HdG. Dinner doesn't start until 7:30PM! So, we arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 expecting to eat then but no one was around. We had to call and find out what was really happening. It should be made clear in the reservation that transportation is at 5:30 and dinner starts at 7:30. I believe both of these can be easily fixed by the Hotel and would help guests in the future.
