The manager was very helpful as I booked the room online and we have bicycles, equipment, food bins, etc. He helped us check out other possibilities for our stay & we had success! Nice view, close to downtown too. The units are very basic, mostly clean and safe.

The motel is clean But Very outdated for the price The beddings was clean but outdated the bathtub was 1970s and yellow. The furniture was very outdated The indian owner is very nice man and his wife. But I should of paid 30$ more and got better because the motel is not worth $100 a night. I stayed in better for less then half that price. So when your booking for a room keep this in mind. I only stayed 2 nights. The room was find for 2 nights but if your a fussy person who expects nice this would not be the place for you. There was 2 bees in the room. And ants on the floor. To be polite I would not stay at that motel again. But I mentioned the owner is a really nice guy

The room was nice, in one of the two houses at the facility instead of the motel proper. It has a mini fridge, sink and 2 beds. Beds were ok for comfort. Had a bit of an old house smell. The area doesn't have much, and is in a neighborhood with a bit of urban decay. The owner was lovely, taking interest in what we doing in town and checking in with us whenever we saw him.

Lokesh Kant was helpful in making us comfortable during our stay. He was informative when we asked about places of interest to visit while in the area. We enjoyed talking with him as he was very personable. We definitely would recommend Hillside Motel. It was not the Taj Mahal, but for the value price, it was worth staying there. If and when we are in St John, we would stay there again.

Wasn't an amazing stay. Booked a queen, arrived and told there wasn't one. Given a room with 2 beds instead, told it was a queen but was doubles. Had to sleep in separate beds that night. Asked for a queen the following day and was given it. Property said it had hair blowers and didn't. We were on a motorcycle trip so knowing these things were important. Plugs in bathrooms didn't work. Staff was friendly but the hotel definitely still needs work. Beds were adequate but not very comfortable.

Disgusting!!!!

I have no problem with old hotels and don’t expect gold; however dirt-lined door frames, a bathroom gerbarator (a pump that chews up your toilet waste and pumps it out due to being below sewer grade) that made the room smell like we were sleeping in an outhouse; was definitely NOT worth the stop! They made you prepay for your room before giving you the keys and then never came back to the office when you wanted to speak to them (an office in which was locked and you had to buss for service)! Now I understand why!!! Convenient but disgusting!

I am disabled but didn't ask for special considerations except no stairs and was given a drive-up room which I appreciated. However, I was not asked if I wanted smoking or non and was given a room in the smoking area of the property. After the clerk/manager(?) showed me where to park, he asked me soon after to move my vehicle b/c they were taking pictures. About 20 minutes later he asked me to move my car back to the original spot b/c he had given me someone else's spot! I walk with a cane so the inconvenience was ridiculous. I had to take a cab the next morning to my appointments and asked to leave my car there during that time which he agreed to, then he berated me because I was parked too close to the line and that they couldn't use that spot. I wasn't on the line, mind you, just too close to it. He BERATED me. Extremely unprofessional and certainly not the way to get clients to return.

Old motel. Price is expensive. Front door knob broken. Hard to use the key. Washroom sink knob rusty and broken. No aircon. Check out, front desk not available. Parking is free, but going in and out is a downhill/uphill challenge. Coffee maker is old and dirty.
