Great location

Went to Rome for 3 days and stayed at the wonderful Hotel Lancelot. Great location very close to the colosseum and within 30 minutes of all other attractions. Friendly staff, clean hotel and rooms were of a good size.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location

Lovely hotel in an excellent location; 5 -10 mins walk from the Colosseum & the metro & also close to buses into the centre. We would recommend the hotel although we didn't feel it was excellent overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful & the downstairs area including sitting area and the bar was a very comfortable place to relax. Our room was the triple room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. However it was tired and a little shabby and needs to be updated. Compared to the rest of the hotel it was disappointing especially as we were celebrating a big birthday. We're used to similar priced European hotels & are not particularly fussy. We wouldn't recommend this room. Breakfast was good but the choices became more limited the later you arrived rather than being replaced throughout the morning. Customers were asking for croissants and chopped fruit each morning after 9am. A cappuccino for breakfast is always a priority in Italy but they were only available from the bar at a cost. Tips - avoid the triple room & have breakfast before 9am & you will have a lovely stay.

The hotel was very conveniently located and the staff very friendly. I asked for a twin room when I booked through Expedia and this was confirmed in writing 4 months before our trip. I was therefore disappointed on arrival to be given a room with a double bed and told that Expedia confirmed they had a twin available incorrectly as they were all sold out. They did bring in an extra single bed for us though which was appreciated and fortunately the room was big enough to accommodate it along with the double.

The property was so cute. Very eclectic with a number of sitting rooms to have a conversation or drink. Our room had a balcony and we could see the Colosseum that was only a 5 minute walk. Had an amazing continental breakfast with so much food. Would highly recommend.

A nice property in a fantastic location, walk to colloseo and yet nice quite street. Furniture could use some updating as well as amenities. Breakfast was so so: no vegetables, coffe not great and no service staff on gand.

This was a return visit to the Lancelot for us. The staff and owner were super accommodating when we needed an accessible room. Breakfast was great and staff went above and beyond if you needed something.

We booked this hotel based on recommendations from Expedia and various travel guides. It did not disappoint. The room is basic but clean, comfy and has a traditional feel. Definitely check out the terrace on 6th floor for views of the Colosseum. The staff are friendly and gave us great restaurant recommendations (Da Domenica and Naumachia). Breakfast consisted of bread, croissants & pastries, ham / cheese selection and cereal, which is enough to set you up for a morning of site seeing. Only thing I would have liked was a bit more fruit. Location was fantastic for historic Rome and close enough to the Colosseo metro station for weary legs after a day of walking. Would definitely stay here again

A perfect stay at this lovely hotel!

We had an amazing stay at this lovely hotel! We give the highest marks for the wonderfully helpful and very kind staff! The hotel is lovely with beautifully decorated calm common areas to relax in. Our room was spacious and extremely clean and quiet and we were so very delighted to have a view of the colosseum in the distance! The bed was extremely comfortable. The heat worked perfectly during our chilly stay and our room was very cozy. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, towels were thick and soft, there was excellent water pressure, toiletries were renewed daily. Daily cleaning of room and bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room. There was much to offer: hard boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, lots of fruit, pastries/cakes, yogurt, juices. Also teas, prepared coffee or coffees by request. The location of the hotel is wonderful - a quiet spot in the Cielo district, at the end of a street which in opposite direction leads to the coloseum. Nearby are two grocery stores, a pharmacy, small restaurants. From this location one may walk to many of the historical sites or take the metro near the coloseum or choose taxi or bus service. It is evident that the hotel owners and all the workers take pride in Hotel Lancelot - it is run impeccably. We were delighted in our stay - the second time we have stayed at this gem of a hotel. We thank you for wonderful holiday memories! Thank you for the lovely room and lovely view! We hope to return!
