A clean and fully renovated place. The room is small , the breakfast menu is the same every day; mainly pastries. There was no mention that the place is also a religious establishment with nuns and priests residing .

The staff was one of the best things about this property. Someone from another country I was so nervous, and they were so kind and helpful in all of the staff helped me that I interacted with. The stay included a good breakfast too

The property is nothing like the photos! This property is outside of all the tourist areas and an about a 20 minute taxi to all locations and hard for them to locate. The area is safe but is a good walking distance to any food or convenience stores. The room is very small and very noisy. You can hear all your neighbors through the thin walls and smoking is permitted, so it comes through the vents. We constantly had to open our windows for fresh air and to let the smell of smoke out. The staff is very friendly, expecially David. The breakfast is as pictured daily. No changes. There is no restaurant or amenities on sight. We made the best of our stay because the room was clean and we felt safe. Would not stay again or recommend for first time travelers.

Clean and economical

I was pleasantly surprised by this property, after all it is a convent. The room was very clean though a bit spartan with a nice bathroom. It had all the modern conveniences (tv, etc...) and a comfortable bed. The staff was great and there was a lovely breakfast. The hotel is very safe. You need a key to get into the courtyard from the street and a key to get into the building at night. It is just outside the Aurelian Wall in the San Giovanni area. Its about a 20 min walk to the Baths of Caracalla and a 30 min walk to the Coliseum. There are taxis and Ubers if you dont want to walk.

Excellent for quiet

As it's located away from hustle and bustle tour attractions, it's quiet at night but it's quite noisy during my stay because it seems it's under construction.(renovation or something, I guess) Even though it's small spacious(I stayed a standard room for 5 nights), it has everything for one person. Lift, early check-in, minibar, a variety of breakfast, friendly staff, etc. But, it has thin walls, so if you get noisy guests next to your room, which might annoy.

What a beautiful place! 10 minutes walk from the metro and easy to navigate with Google Maps. It is a gated property and I felt very safe here. I was travelling alone for the first time in Italy and this place was very welcoming and helpful. The lady on reception spoke wonderful English and showed me where everything was. I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a clean place! The room was spotless and had everything I needed. I slept very peacefully here. The air con was excellent. A little place called Vicino Enoteca is a lovely place to dine or just have a drink. They are very popular with the locals and were very accommodating and kind to me. I would highly recommend visiting this place during your stay. I will be returning to Casa San Giuseppe very soon!
